My favorite character is Sam. I don't really know why, I just think he's a great character. Maybe it's because he is such a loyal friend to Frodo, that makes him pretty special. And, he makes me laugh.

Actually I have seen the movie as well as read the wonderfull book by JRR Tolkien.
Firstly I have seen the movie and then read the book but my most favorite character remains the same that is Aragorn the strider.

my favorite character has to be gandalf. he is the dependable old man, who when needed can scare the bejeezus out of everyone and at the same time laugh with the other members. and he's seriously witty.

my favorite character in lord of the rings is aragorn. when i was reading the books, i really felt that he was the strongest among them all even if he was a mortal. i admired his courage and dedication. i also think vigo mortensen did a great job playing the role.
i also liked legolas in the book. i thought he and gimli were a couple. lol.

I'd have to say it's Faramir. I've read the books before I watched the movies and when I saw that they made Faramir's character fall weak with the ring's presence, I felt like I had to defend him.
I think he's special because he wasn't swayed from doing the right thing as opposed to the movie-making-liberty they made about him (one of many, of course). Oh well, that's about it... I absolutely love the movies, though. And I understand why they had to carry out these changes for the big screen. But Faramir gone bad (even though he redeemed himself later on) -- PLEASE!!! Okay, that's all. LOL :D
