I live in central Ohio and we just experienced some nasty, nasty windstorms because of the hurricanes and a lot of people lost power. That was last Sunday, and I read this morning that 139,910 homes in Ohio are still without power. What is the deal? I know we sent a lot of workers down south to help out with the hurricane relief effort, but did we really send so many that people have to go without power for almost an entire week? If so, then I think someone in charge needs to rethink their career choice, even I know not to spread things that thin. We were expecting this weather so it's not like it was a freak storm. I live in a rural area, in the middle of nowhere, and we have co-op (private) electric. We lost ours for about 5 hours Sunday night. In my area a lot of people have wells or spring water, which requires an electric pump to get the water into our homes. So, no power, no water. I guess I should feel lucky that we have an old outhouse (EWW). I know there are a lot of other people out there in rural areas who have no power and no water because of this problem. Is anyone doing anything to help these people?

I know this is just crazy. I have friends in Akron who are still without power. One of them has a electric garage door opener and cant get the car out. I feel bad for them I hope there electric gets turned back on soon.
