Do you believe fasting at least one day a month is good for you?

Because of my religious beliefs, I fast one Sunday a month. I didn't do it when I was pregnant, nursing, or sick. But I can honestly say that it helps me. I'm not sure about physically, but it seems it's easier to make right choices. I think it's because I have learned to willing give up something worldly without it hurting me. Does that make sense?

I have never heard of this. When you fast on the Sunday, do you feel extremely hungry the following Monday? Don't you get headaches or anything while fasting? I am curious about this....

Actually, if you concentrate on how hungry you are, you do get hungry. But if I devote my time to doing something constructive or being of service, I don't find myself hungry at all. And - no - I am not famished on Monday. I usually start my fast on Saturday night after dinner and end it on Sunday dinner. Just didn't know if there were any physical benefits or not.

Yea, we have 1 month obligatory fasting in an year, and currently it is the time. We abstain from food, drink & water from dawn to sunset, and engage in more spiritual activities.
There are optional fasting days in some few specific days. Also there are optional fasting is preferred on every Monday and Thursday every week, and on the dates 13,14 and 15 in Hijri Callendar every month.
Cheers.

Hello,Rosey! Fasting has direct impact on our health.Fasting is prescribed for allowing rest to our digestive system. Our stomach is working overtime to digest the fast foods and meat and fish and other allied foods. So if we fast for a day in a month the system gets rest and restrict calories.thanx.
