Do you fill up paper in the copier/fax machines?

This happens all the time in our office, and I think I'm the only one that notices it. Today, I walked by the fax machine and it was out of paper. There was a fax that had come through but when I added more paper the rest of it came out. Now, someone had to have taken the fax off the machine and since the paper is visible should have noticed that there wasn't any paper left. I don't know why this person thought to just leave it, they had 2 of 11 pages of the fax. You'd think they'd at least realize they were missing some pages. It's almost impossible to not notice there's no paper in the machine. I remember one time this happened and we had about 4 separate faxes waiting to print. Normally the receptionist fills the fax and copy machines with paper, but it seems like the fax machine nevers gets filled.

That sucks!
Fortunately we use online fax service from Onesuite.com so we don't have fax machines at work. We only print fax that we need to print to save on ink and paper. Unfortunately our printer also run out of papers and its up to whoever going to print something to fill the printer/copier paper tray.

We have the ability to have all the faxes come into the computer and then just print out the ones we need, but my boss is very reluctant to set it up. I have no idea why.
But the whole paper thing happens all the time still. Someone will take a fax off the machine and put it on my desk if it's mine and I will notice that it didn't all print. I now know to check the fax machine for paper before I call the client and tell them to refax it.

Hey reiny, Oh I remember it well. When I was working it
seemed like no one ever wanted to fill the fax or copier.
What the big deal was I just don't know. Any idiot could
do it and it would only take a minute. But no it was
beneath them! I would get so angry because I knew that
there had been so many people at the machine that knew
it was empty but wouldn't lift their precious fingers
to fill it. Never mind that there were faxes backed up.
I was always the one to fill it! I don't know why people
are like this, but I do know this is one of the reasons
that I don't ever want to go back to working in an office
full of people, especially women ever again!

The place I used to work, it was the receptionists responsibility to make sure it was full. In the past, it was at this place too, but I don't know that anyone has told the girl we have now... I'll have to check on that tomorrow.
I know that it's not that anyone feels it's beneath them - there's only 4 of us in the entire company. It's just that sometimes the owner is a bit scatterbrained and doesn't pay attention to that stuff. I know he was the one that did it this time - and has in the past.
