Obama Refusing Celebrities Support

United States

i have read several times where Obama has said "thanks for NO thanks" to several celebrities that would like to show their support and get involved.. while i understand that some of these (Lindsey Lohan being the latest but there was also Scarlett Johansson that he made a huge deal in how he WASNT emailing with her even though it was not played up like an inappropriate thing not to mention i dont think she would be a stain on being associated with him) celebrities can be train wrecks but i wouldnt knock anyones support if i was running for office!! do you think he is making the right move?? to me i dont think that some one is gonna see a celebrity that has a bad past supporting him influencing any of their votes!! i would want my name put out there as much as possible.. surely some of these celebrities have enough people that like them that are not questionable in their personalities to where that would just be a few more votes for him.. to me its like he is saying that he doesnt want support from people that are viewed as less than perfect or ideal and yeah i know i have been complaining about political post but this one irked me!!!

I think that anyone running for public office, should run from celebrities. They have their own baggage that you don't need to carry with you, no matter how popular they are. They have baggage that you don't need to handle.

Well it is always nice if celebrities show their support.. BUT it is more like a promotional stunt for them, I think.. Have a nice day :)

Well, I feel it would depend on the situation. I know there are Celebrities, or singers who have chosen to express their feelings and thoughts over time. Maybe he cannot do it as it would stir up too much Controversy or such? Personally I would think it would be a Good thing to know which Celebrity and such is supporting who as long as they are not donating $$ directly or trying to stir up any extra trouble for anyone as well.

He doesn't want support from celebrities because it might take the spotlight off of him, he is a man that needs all the attention, and he doesn't want to share, and yes I think he believe he is above most of them. He don't care for people that are not up to his education or wealth, so I wonder what he really thinks of the just common people. I don't like him and I think he is a snake that looks nice and talks a good speech, but other than that he is not ready or capable of running this oountry.

I think in a lot of cases celebrities actually do more to damage a candidate than help them. Usually they blather on about things they know nothing about, toss made up numbers around and spout personal biased and skewed opinions as gospel. In addition they often trash the opposite side so badly that it in turn reflects badly on the campaign they are trying to help. this may well be the smartest thing Obama can do right now. with the "celebrity" status that has been handed to him, the last thing he needs is ant more association with celebrities. I think this is a good strategic move on Obama's part.

i didnt think about the celebs being so fanatic to where they looks bad.. i was just thinking it would show support in numbers but then again like you said.. if they become radical and attack the other side to where they just seem bizarre it could backfire on everyone

Him refusing their support, is him judging them, deciding they're not good enough to 'be seen with' as it were. That puts me off him in itself.

This is an out rite lie. Hussin Obama was just in LA for a Barbra Obama Streisand fund raiser at $28,000 Dallars a pop. From all the rich liberals that control this state, I think you know who they are. The once that have turn this California into a sanctuary and welfare give away, to all the illegals. The same liberals that have cryed that it is the republican conservative rich that are bringing down this country. All I can say is, it's all bulls--t lies. Political propaganda by the Democrats.
