What did your wedding cake look like? How did you come up with the idea for it & know that was what you wanted?
The lady who made our cake wasn't able to make the one I originally wanted, which was a bummer. :( But I found one I liked almost as much. It was 3-tiers, round, had scrollwork, and red roses in between the top & 2nd layer. It looked fantastic!

Hi there Ikoenig07. I eloped and had no wedding cake, but yours does sound beautiful. Being a decorator myself I am somewhat surprised that your decorator couldn't do what you originally wanted. You wouldn't believe some of the cakes my customers have come up with! But I am glad you were pleased with the one you got. I wish you and your husband many, many years of happily wedded bliss.

Thank you! Yeah, I had originally wanted silver hearts on the cake (that was our theme) and she said she couldn't do the silver, because it wasn't edible.

Oh well, in that case, she was right. Silver is not edible. There are, however, silver colored decorations that could have been used. Just a thought in case you'd like to have that cake for your Silver Wedding Anniversary.

Mine was white with navy. I had a just a water fountain under two tiers and then there was 6 heart shaped cakes around the base of the water fountain with a precious moments topper. I collect precious moments. It was really beautiful.

I'm in the process of looking at different wedding cakes at the moment. There are so many styles to choose from these days.
I do know that I don't want a traditional, fruit wedding cake with marzipan/royal icing ... yuk! I have been looking at chocolate cakes with chocolate icing. I've even thought of having one layer tirimisu flavoured.
Hmmmmm Decisions Decisions.

Haha, no mine wasn't an ice cream cake. They do make them, but it probably wouldn't be the best idea for a wedding cake, because usually wedding cakes are left out for a couple of hours (people like to look at them), and it'd probably melt by then
