Hi everyone! Just want to ask what brushes do you use for oil painting? I really haven't invested on brushes yet and have been using those cheap china bristle brushes that are most of the time disposable. What are the best brushes for oil painting. Thank you very much.

http://www.dickblick.com/zz066/85a/ These are the brushes I've been using. They are working wonderfully well and if cleaned properly and kept properly they last quite a while.

The cheaper brushes are fine for practising with, but they dont quite have the look about them, they dont distribute the paint as easily as the more expensive brushes.I have used cheaper ones to practise with many times, but the good brushes are the sable ones, they can be bought at any art suppliers store, but they are more expensive, the brush is real sable hair, but im sure when you see the difference that they make to your work that you will be glad that you bought some.

Sable hair brushes are very expensive but I would look into some brand name brushes. I'm actually using Winsor brushes right now from Blick. I personally would look online for brushes because you can defintiely get them cheeper than in stores. And you can search for specific style brushes too.
