Do you get along with your parents?

I'm not really close to my family. I really do not like it when people say you should respect your mother no matter what, because what is a mother to them might be different to me. My mom is kind of rude, she sings and talks and nags incessantly and she just stamps on your nerves, then acts surprised that you get angry. She thinks she understands what I go through but she obviously has never been through anything I have. I mean, she is my mom and I love her, but I don't really enjoy her all the time. Also, she controls my dad like a puppet, he seems intimidated by her or something. He doesn't seem to have an opinion of his own, or she always tells her side of the story, which is always biased against me.

Hi there wickikitty! I do get along well with my parents. We have a very good relationship. Well, when I was younger, especially when I was in high school and college, our relationship was not that good. I think that is because I was going through that stage where people become rebellious. But my relationship with them now is really great. I am very happy about that. We do not have much time for bonding but we do have our communication lines always open.

I have lost both in the childhood and now I remember all the time and I am feeling unlucky because I could not get chance to serve m father and mother. Had I been with my parents I would have served them in the old age by all comforts for them. I have pain for doing not this.

My mom and me are like best friends and it's been that way since high school. My dad and I only recently have had the chance to get a relationship, which we have now, and I think some of that has to do with his new wife who is big on family values, i love her so much she is just one of those people you have to love. I said some pretty harsh things to my dad, and then for some reason we had a good relationship, maybe those things stuck and he realized I am an adult with many views on many topics.
