For me Linux is better, because my computer is very old and the Linux is the only way for me to have new OS, new apps, better security...

Probably Linux, especially as there are a lot of different versions available, but there are more programs available for Windows, so Windows is easier for the average user.

I think linux is the best only because it's free and it has a good community. However, since Windows has more resources, their applications are more easy to use. Although linux is really more powerful - and since it's not as common as windows, there are less worm attacks and viruses. I actually open my usb drive in my linux OS and then extract my files in windows. Windows is too sensitive.
