Just some minutes ago my siblings arrived, my older sis found some snake lying on the kitchen floor, she thought that it was a toy snake and she keeps on kicking it saying what is this? where does the kid get this snake toy, then suddenly she realized it was a real snake! we all jumped off and cry out! We were so scared! This is the first time that I saw a real snake and it is inside my house. Until now my heart is pounding and I am really scared. what if the snake has nest here in my house? The snake size is somehow 12 to 14 inches and it was really scary, snake is for me one of the most scariest animal on earth. What if the mother of the snake is just around the corner. I am sure I can't go to sleep tonight without thinking about it. This day was pretty scary, I am just glad that my siblings are here, if not I might just faint from fear. and to think I have three kids and they are all around the house playing, what if there are more snakes and it will bite my kids? what if when my youngest is on the crib and the snake bite on him. Oh my! My sister said and cry out loud.. IN JESUS NAME, SNAKE GET OUT OF THIS HOUSE. I am no a believer but right now it is one thing that I can hold to.. oh my fellow mylotters who believes please pray for our house. I am really so afraid for my kid's sake right now. I am so scared. My heart is still pounding even I type. This was the most frightening day of my life. Oh my, I just can't express how much scared I am right now I called the owner of the house we are renting and she said that it was just ordinary and that they too often see snakes in their house, well if it is true then maybe a bigger snake is around the corner of our village. SO a bigger one is on the loose. I am really scared, oh please fellow mylotters help me in any way you can, and thanks for reading my lengthy post, i just need a place to rant.

That is a big snake right there in the picture, it is indeed a scary thing, looks like a cobra to me, don't know much about snakes but it is indeed very scary one. Glad to know your kids are alright, how did you chase the snake out in your house ? Did you kill it? You're location might be near to some mush or places whereby snakes might live, I think you ask for some assistance to clean on the sorroundings for the safety of your kids. I would be glad to say a word of prayer for you and your family.

She said it was only 12 inches long, it won't be able to swallow anything bigger than an egg at that size. Stop trying to scare her!

no not a cobra but we call here that kind "sawa" I don't know the English term, the one in the picture is a close up take. The snake size is around 12 to 14 inches. Yes until now we are saying prayers, I might print out a Psalms 91 and hang it around

Calm down, now is the time to teach your children about real snakes. If this one is not poisoness, it is a good thing to have around, it will kill rats and mice that carry deseases that can really make you sick. Teach your children to repect a snake and not to touch, but don't give them your unreasonable fear of a creature which will help you if you let it. LOL

Your right savypat, respecting the animal and leaving it alone (if outside that is) would prevent some unwanted actions. (not talking about the dangerouse ones, but you all know that the animal is more afraid of us than we are of it)Still funny where i lived I used to be visited by cats or birds but never had a snake in the house, plus the only specie that enters in our home, in your geographically region is a small quit harmless snake). Still beinga little afraid of them is a right thing to be. nonvenomouse snakes you can catch them (or your husband) and release it somewhere far from your home, the ones a little agggresive is better to call the experts and to keep aa watch of the serpents untill the experts arrive. it's very importnat to know which snakes live in your region and whicu are dangerous and which aren't.

We are very lucky we only have rattlesnakes that are dangerous. We do have a lot of snakes and I don't like to catch them but sometimes we do because they eat our pond fish.

Be close to the lord. when you are close to the lord he will protect you. Don't be afraid. I hope that you manage to rent another place. If you have to stay at this place check out how can you prevent snakes from entering your house, by closing doors and windows for example.

Don't worry, pehpot, I'm pretty sure you are not in danger. While finding a snake in your house can be alarming, this snake is too small to do any damage. Since you said it is a common snake, I'm guessing it is like a garden snake and not poisonous. If it were to bite you or your children, it would only pinch a little bit and would do no harm since it doesn't have poison. If it is some kind of python (squeezes it's prey to kill it) you are still okay because it is too small to kill anything bigger than a rat. Baby snakes are usually only about 6-8 inches long (I know, because I had a whole nest of them hatch in my kitchen wall at college), so this one did not just hatch, so it wouldn't have any siblings or it's mother around at this point(most snakes just lay their eggs and then leave them, anyway, they do not take care of the baby snakes). When the nest of snakes hatched in my kitchen, I had to pick them up and put them in a paper bag, and the worst any of them did was to pee on me. It was kind of stinky, but proved the snakes were even more scared of me! Try not to be scared of snakes, many of them are harmless, and even do good for people by eating mice and rats. Good Luck.

Oh my God, good thing nothing bad happened to your sister, that the snake didn't bit her or something. you should check the house and try to do general cleaning just to make sure there arent any nests under the stairs or under the closet. i looked at the picture that you have uploaded and the snake looks really scary.. it's black with white dots.. good thing that the snake was not that big too.. just be careful and try to survey the whole house..

You remembered Jesus when you were very scared.... I guess that's what you should always do now. Always ask Jesus and of course God to help you and you'll be safe. Always look after your kids, your surroundings and take care.

Thank God you and your family are safe. That looks like a big snake.. eeww.. Snakes are hard to find in Singapore but I believe there are still some around. That's why I live in the 9th storey. Anyway, maybe you can get a Pest Buster in? Does your country have experts who can be hired to kill pests like Snakes and many cockroaches? In my country, we do.

Hi pehpot, There are no snakes where I live and I would never want to see one. Too me they are very scary creatures, so I have some idea how you must feel. Do you know what kind of snake it is? Are there any poisonous snakes in your country? Have you ever seen a snake in your area before? Find out as much as you can, and if the kind of snake that you saw is not dangerous, try to get over your fear. Remember that you may never see another snake in your house again, and you cannot continue to live in fear. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Blessings.

I guessed the best thing to do so that it won't happened again is avoid high bushes in your backyard. Snakes used to hid on high bushes or in ricks. If not too many junks on your backyard. Do all the necessary clean-up. That is also to prevent the inccident again.

What kind of snake was it? You know, not all snakes are bad. They're good for getting rid of pest like rats (that carry disease) and other vermin. If I had to choose between having a snake or a rat in my house, I think I'd choose the snake; but that's just me. I will pray for you and your family though and pray that it's not a poisonous snake.

that was scary..i hate snakes ..and thanks to God nothing happens to you or your family members...if there are still snakes on the loose then be careful ..do you believe on putting some garlic on any possible holes that the snakes may appear? then if its yes then please do so..since it will really help and weaken the snake before it can attack to anyone..

If you can move, I suggest that. I would be hard pressed to stay in a house if I had found a snake in the kitchen. I would be freaking out and would be terrified to go to bed.

I think the best thing you can do is look for a safer place to live.If the owner of the house told you they also find snake on there house often. Then that is very alarming. I think it is time for you to find a better apartment where in you are sure your kids are safe. It is hard to take a risk and just rely on what the owners statement saying it is ordinary. Having snake around an area is not normal. Specially that you have kids. So as soon as possible i think you need to move out from that place.

I have to agree with belk, it is not normal to have a snake in your house. If it is normal for that particular house then that would be a signal to me that I need to move on. Spiders, creep as well, are commonplace. Snakes ...nope...not in a home. I believe your landlord probably has had problems keeping tenents in the past due to this. Not many people will be ok being roommates with a snake.
