Hello all, my name is Ellis. Mr Ellis that is. My personal name is extremely rare in my country and people tend to pronounce it as "E-lis" instead of "El-lis" or simply pronouncing it as "Alice". (No offense to me :) )
Now what do you think of my personal name? Is it really a bad choice? Do you know people male or female who are named "Ellis"? Or even better if you're Mr or Ms Ellis, come and share your experience here!

In the UK, Ellis is a male name. The etymology of the name is that it is from an English surname that is derived from the given name, Elijah. I don't think that your name is a bad choice, I think that any name given to a child must have had suitable consideration put in from their parents.
