Reading books before going to bed is a good habit i heard. It helps reduce the mental pressures and helps us get a peaceful sleep in the night. I have not yet put into practice though. I shall soon try to implement.
But do you read books before going to bed?

I used to read before going to bed... but if it is a novel... i usually end up sleeping very late... because i tend to want to finish what i am reading... because the story can sometimes be very very interesting... and it is hard to put the book down... but nowadays... i don't read before sleeping anymore... i don't have the time... and i don't want to disturb my sleeping daughter... we sleep in the same bed...

eversince I learned to read, I will not pout down a book until I finish it. When my mom calls for lights out, my flashlight will take charge. I will then be very sleepy in school. When I was in grade 6, i had the complete Nancy Drew set. Then sweet dreams etc. etc. When I was in college, no book can run from the power of my eyes. When Harry Potter came, once I start reading, I will not put it down. The kids will be waiting, when I'm done, its time for me to tell them the story. Love to read, read to love.

Yes, I do. I always make it a point to read before I go to sleep. Even if I only read one page or one paragraph of the book as long as I read.;D I'm a voracious reader I may say. Reading has always been one of my stress reliever. After I read at night, it always makes me feel good.
You really should make it habit too!;D

I have done that all of my life, and it was interesting to find out that it helps reduce mental pressures and helps you get a peaceful sleep. Come to think of it, I sleep better when I read at night.
I guess I've always just read at night because sometimes that's the only time I can take out of my busy day to read.

Lately I have been reading every night before I go to bed. I get this urge to read at least one chapter a day and that time usually comes at bedtime. If I am reading a good story I will end out reading more than one chapter and find myself up until 3am forcing myself to keep my eyes open. Really, I have opted away from playing the computer games at night and chosen to read instead.

I always read a book even if it is five minutes before I switch off the lights and I go to bed. Right now I am reading about my dog breed, the shetland sheepdog. I like to be informed about its history and breed standard. I find reading relaxing and informative at the same time.

I read ebooks before I go to sleep. There's just nothing to do at night but read a good book. I don't agree that it promotes a peaceful sleep. I am actually quite fitful because I think of the plot and the entire storyline. But sometimes when I stay up until early morning just to finish the book I can instantly go to sleep. :)

As I love to read I do not select time or place for a read. I have the habit of reading anything or reading any article or story or comments or news. Generally I go to bed late at night at present and before that I need to sit before my computer where I usually search and read and even before receiving your advice on earning money I had the habit of writing and mostly I have been writing now with the keyboard. Prior to all these, books only were my true friends, and stories and novels and poems in English and obviously in my vernacular I used to read regularly and yes, before sleeping, every night. Now, after you have reminded me, I am feeling unhappy as I have to miss my pre-slumber reading.

Yeah, I do read books before bedtime. In fact, I do my reading after the housework chores are done, before taking the afternoon nap, while waiting for the bus, and of course before bedtime.
Reading, indeed, relieves the stress of every day activities as it brings us to another world, free of daily problems and worries.
For before bedtime reading routine, I usually read about 15-20 minutes before finally dozing off.

Yes, I do, especially, when I finding hard to fall asleep or sometimes as well if the book I am reading was very interesting and can't stop to read it until I finished it. Yes, I agree, I really think too that it helps to reduce mental pressures and also it was good pastime while waiting for sleep to come.

Before going to bed, I read a passage from a book written by my Master for about 10 to 15 minutes, then go to meditation for about 30 minutes. In this way, it helps me to calm down, and have a good meditation and a good sleep.

Sometimes I do it all depends on my kids and how tired i am. If my kids go to be early i can sneak in a couple of chapters but if they want to be rowdy than that means i will be to tired to read anybody's book.
