I'm interested in knowing if any of you have ever posted a topic that you thought was actually pretty clever, just to find that it got little to no response from the Mylot community. Tell me what your topic was about and in what interest page did you post it to? The reason i ask is because I post a lot of topics only to find maybe one or two responses, so I want to find out if there is any link to maybe My unpopular topic to your unpopular topic. "Heathers" and "Plastics" need not reply......(If you get that, then your cool in my book)

Talker I notice that you are still at the beginning in mylot adventure. If i were you, I would respond to posts that attract my attention. I would start to build up my friends list. When I feel comfortable enough i would start to post a discussion. The more friends you have the merrier, the greater chance that you have greater responses.

If what you say is true then all it ever really is is a popularity posting. What I mean is, by your definition, I'm not ever going to feel inclined to go read someone elses post because they are not my friends. As uncool as that is because there are some really good posts out there that deserved to be read, your probably right.

It's not a question of popularity. In my opinion but I am subject to be corrected. the more friends you have the greater is the chance that your posts are going to be exposed to other users.

I have quite a few different discussions i have posted with very little responses..One that at the time I thought would be sort of big was about Immigration. I dont remember what topic it was under but I think it was life...I got 2 responses. There are many more but to me it seems like the more people you have in your friends the more the responses you get. In my opinion the stupidest topics get a lot more responses.

I agree about the dumbest topics getting more responses. I think it's because with those topics people don't have to exert any energy in thinking about a response. Sad as it may be......people have no opinions about anything anymore or if they do they won't say. They would rather just tell you what their favorite color is and move on.

I dont know if it was clever or anything, but i posted the Theme song of "Ugly Betty" (Big girl,you are beautiful) with the intention of praising women of all shapes and sizes, but i only got one response. And it got deleted coz a member who got banned commented on it. Hehehehehe.

I remember posting 3 topics that elicit no/very few response. The first one is about playdates, the second one is about the effects of classical music on children. I posted both on the parenting section. The third one is about stock market. I dont know why very people find that uninteresting but I dont mind at all. We all choose the topic we fee comfortable responding too.Have a great mylotting day!

It happens all the time, doesn't harm to post more clever discussions though! I think the more seasoned mylotters will grab attention easily..
