Knitted stocking stuffers?

Looking ahead to Christmas, it would be nice to get the jump on filling stockings for my daughter (25), daughter in law (28) and son (28). Neither my daughter or daughter in law would wear headbands and that's all I can think of! What can I knit for stocking stuffers for them?

What about fingerless gloves? - there's a neat pattern called Fetching on knitty.com, and there's a nice, simple pattern in Last Minute Knitted Gifts. Last year I knitted mini-stockings to attach to gifts. It was really cute. Three years ago I knitted a lot of my family members toques (hats), which were well received.

Bookmarks if they read books and don't have any or enough of them, miniature animals if they like that kind of thing, something to stuff catnip in if they have a cat that likes cat nip. It's sort of hard since I don't know anything about them. What do they like? If they like cards, a pack of cards with a knitted tote around it. Cell phone cover/carrier if they don't have one and if you can make it so it clips to their belt. Necklaces for the girls and if you know a masculine way to do it, neckchains for the guy. Actually bracelets and anklets would be an option, too. Without knowing them, it's hard to know. Dishclothes and scrubbies are all the rage with knitting and crochet up here right now. I hope you received better help from someone else, I'm having trouble coming up with things. Pillow pincushion if someone sews. I don't know.

But you did come up with some good ideas. :) I know it's hard when you don't know them. It's hard for me and I DO know them! Scrubbies might be good for the girls. Bookmarks would be good, too, thanks!

How about the scarves knit with the confetti yarn? I have a friend that has one and she uses it constantly. It is about 19 stitches wide and is about 3 to four feet long. It's knit on a size 19 needle so it would be fast to knit. It's a wonderful fashion accessory that can be used as a scarf or a tie belt. Also how about knit bracelets? Here in California they are starting to come into fashion. If nothing else, how about slippers? They are fast to knit and I loved mine (I got to wear my slippers I knit once, then the poodle we had at the time ate one. I would have knit another, but it took me a year to knit the first pair. I am a far better knitter now than I was when I was 16...I do a sweater in a week so it wouldn't take anytime at all to knit slippers.)

Slippers is a good idea, thanks. My son and daughter in law might enjoy them. Bracelets... I don't know. Maybe my daughter. I'll have to find a pattern or see what they look like. Thanks for the ideas!

it is a good idea to get a jump start on knitting stocking stuffers for Christmas for Christmas will be here before you know it and it is just a few months away as it is now but since they do not wear head bands socks are the only other thing i could think of that would make a good stocking stuffer or maybe you could knit them a personalized stocking to use for years to come down the road or depending on how big the stocking is you might be able to fit a scarf in it

A personalized stocking is actually what I did last year!
