Kids and Crafts

I was wondering if anyone has any good ideas for crafts to do with a 3 year old? I'm trying to find things to do on a daily basis that take up at least an hour of time and are also learning crafts. What I am hoping to gain from this is to prepare my son for preschool. Also, to get him to understand the concept of sitting in one place for a period of time and learn. We currently have playdough time, bead time (where we string beads on a string for the fine motor skills), painting and make picture frames. Any other ideas would help!!

If you are preparing him for preschool, you might want to try the alphabet and number sets of refrigerator magnets. My kids loved those and after they learned to spell, we would leave messages to each other on the fridge. They thought it was so cool when I taught them how to spell their names with those magnets!

I have tried this but he finds it more fun to put them under the refrigerator! I've noticed that I have to do his learning with things he enjoys such as trucks or cars!! I haven't tried it lately but I will sure try it again. Thanks for the suggestion!
