Turkey is a Thanksgiving classic, but many people don't like it. Do you like turkey? If not, what do you make instead?

I love the turkey on Thanksgiving and on Christmas. Its my favorite part of the holidays. The dark meat is so yummy!! And then all the fixingss that go with it ...stuffing, potatoes, gravy, alll that stuff just makes it seem so complete.

I love the dark meat, too! And I can't get enough of the mashed potatoes.

I love the leftovers. I like making turkey sandwiches with some mayo.

I love turkey, and I like it loaded with gravy and dressing.. I cook a turkey and a ham, that way everyone has a choice but it isn't Thanksgiving without a turkey, ot at least to me it isn't.. I can never remember a Thanksgiving that we didn't have a turkey, so it is tradition..

I love turkey loaded with gravy, too. I'm not a big fan of dressing. I also love ham. I think I just like food!

It all depends on who cooks the turkey. My grandmother, when she cooks it, makes it too dry to eat. If that's the case, I will grab some ham she also has made. My mother on the other hand, her turkey is wonderful! It's so moist and full of flavor. So, I do like turkey- but only my mom's.

That makes perfect sense. It's never good when it's dried out. I know some people deep fry them for extra flavor. Hopefully you're eating your mom's turkey for Thanksgiving! Thanks for your response.

I'm a vegetarian so I have tofurkey and quorn meatless turkey roast for thanksgiving. They taste gret in my opinion, and I think the quorn tastes just like real turkey. That said, I wans't always a vegetarian and when I ate meat I absolutely loved thanksgiving becasue of the turkey. it was one of my favorite meats. Although I think you are right in that many people don't like it, because i was the only one in my immediate family wh really liked it or who ever ate the leftovers. everyone else just ate it casue it was tradition.

I haven't had either of those vegetarian dishes, but they sound good. I will have to try them sometime. Most people in my family like it, but my dad will barely touch the stuff. Thanks for your response!
