We got my dog from an animal rescue place. She is a hound mix named Lilly. When we decided to get her, we thought about naming her something else so we could choose it ourselves. However, we just thought "Lilly" was too cute to change. How did you choose your dog's name?

We got out dog as a puppy from the SPCA. My boys named her right away - Sable - after the female wrestler (this was 1998). A few months later, apprantly the wrestler Sable (not my dog) posed in playboy and the WWF kicked her out. Right away my boys were mortified and wanted to change our dogs name to Chyna - the "good" female wrestler. Needless to say, our dog is still Sable. I thought it would be too confusing for her to learn a new name.
We did have a cat once - many years ago. When we got her, she was Peaches. We didn't like that at all, and although she was a grown cat we did change her name to Bandit - the name fit her perfectly! Cats don't really answer to their names anyways, so it wasn't that big a deal.

Did the dog steal things? That's how this cat got the name. She stole things from us - things we never did find again...

The same as you, we got our dog from a rescue center and they had named him Milo, we could have changed it because he was a stray so he didnt "know" his own name but the kids loved it and it does suit him, two weeks later he comes when you call!

My husband and my son go crazy everytime we get a new dog, I always name them Baby.. I can remember that name so much easier.. I call all dogs, puppies, cats and kittens baby anyhow, so why not call them something I can remember.. We did adopt a poodle from the animal shelter once and it was a really expensive poodle, its owner had passed away and no one in her family wanted to take the dog, so we got it.. We were told that the dogs name was "Smoochy" but he was a boy dog and I didn't want to call him something that silly, so we let his hair grow, (he had a girly cut), and named him "Rock".. He was the man!!!!

My dog's name is Ino-san. She's a japanese spitz.
Inu is the direct translation of dog in japanese. And, I love watching Naruto the Anime and there's a character there names Ino Yamanaka (Ninja Wolfbang!).
So, I decided to name her Ino-san.

My dog's name is Moochie. My mom named him after a dog in a Mexican drama series Gata Salvaje. Moochie, eventhough it's a very common name, still sounds cute and i think personally the name fits him well. He's not responsive though when i call his name. He'll just turn around. He's a stubborn dog and that's just him.

I usually got my dogs name from its color and behavior.
My latest dogs color is white with spot of black.
That's why I named him Spotty.
Although I know it's a common name for a dog I still choose that name because I know with his color it fits him.
Happy mylotting..

Well, a few weeks ago, my mom rescued a puppy from the middle of the street. So, in honor of him getting a second chance in life, we named him "Lucky." It seems to fit him perfectly!!
