Lazy Humans = Dead Animals

Much to my horror I found out just today that a 'no kill' shelter in my area euthanized ALL of their animals when the evacuation orders came in for Hurricane Ike. Instead of loading up the animals and moving them to a safer area they simply put them all down. I am disgusted by this "policy" and am livid that any self proclaimed animal lover would carry out such a massacre.

What happened to their no kill policy? The animals probably would have been better off if, since they didn't feel like moving them, to just leave them there. At the very least, you'd think some of the animals would have survived. These folks do not sound like animal lovers to me

I completely agree and to make matters worse the storm took a sharp right hand turn and we didn't even get any rain from it. So they killed all those animals or nothing. I know there were better ways to do it.
