For my fellow Filipino's this is a food that is quite popular in my country. But for all of you that are from other countries, bagoong is a shrimp paste with quite a strong taste! I am living in Egypt with my husband because of his work at the moment so can't get bagoong here. I miss it very much!
So who knows it an likes it also? And for those that have never had it, now that I have shared what it is do you think you would like to try it?

Hi there. I'm here in the Philippines and I also like bagoong alamang. I have one bottle in the office. I put it in green mangoes and with rice too. I bought the one which is spicy flavor because i love spicy food. Hope you get one there someday.

Your welcome. I hope I can go to Egypt someday and see the pyramids. No filipino stores over there? I thought they are everywhere. Maybe you can ask your relatives here to send some over there. Bagoongs are available in bottles and I think some are exported already. Just try to find it in stores. Good luck!

Hi Leixa, I've come to see the Pyramid once and only outside because we ran out time and they are many, but I only saw three and I think those are the most popular ones. I hope that you would see the Pyramid one day! I saw some Filipino's around but most of the time they were with their employer and I didn't get the chance to speak to one of them which is sad. I met one Filipino family here though but and they were tourist and they only here for a few days so I didn't get the chance to know them well and to ask for bagoong, lol. Thanks again .

I'm not a fan of bagoong but salted and dried fish are my favorites when I was yet in the Philippines. I can still buy that here because we have Asian store and even a Filipino store here but since my hubby don't like to eat that, I am also depriving myself in that kind of food. I don;t want to offend him even just a smell of it. I know it is has an offending smell. There was one time my friend give me dried fish. I cook it when I was alone but the house stink until my hubby arrived. hahah...I sprayed and lighted scented candles to get rid of the smell. House here is too close that the smell can not slip out.

I absolutely love Alamang! I remember back when I was small, we used to sauté it along with pieces of pork meat and make it a dip for some unripe mangoes. Really very delicious!
Wow, you are in Egypt! Well, you just have to wait then until you get home.

Below I posted bagoong and mango picture. This is one of the favorites of Pinoys. Most pinoys especially women love eating raw mango with bagoong so I understand those Pinoys living abroad if they miss eating bagoong. Common lets feast!
