How many times did you take your driving test before you passed?

When I took my driving test there was none of this written test and things that you have to do now. I took my driving test then the examiner flipped (literally) through some flash cards with traffic signs on them and asked me what the one he stopped at meant, asked me a question about motorways and that was it, passed. I must admit it was my second attempt but I passed and that was the main thing though I did pass my motorcyle test the first time around, which was pretty much the same sort of process.
How many times have you taken your driving test? Will you keep going until you pass or eventually accept that you were always meant to be chauffeur driven!

I only had to take the driving test one time and I passed it. I had to take the written test. Then I had to drive up the street and do a 3 point turn. Then he wanted me to drive back to the license place and park in a parking spot. Then we went in and I had to tell him what the signs were and that was it. Then I got my license and I was a proud girl that day. LOL

The first time I went to the driver's license bureau, I didn't get a chance to drive. The first thing they did was give me a vision test, and I failed. I didn't try again until after I married. My husband's out of state license had expired, so we went together to get our Oklahoma driver's license. We both passed both the written test and the driving part of the test, but I made a better score than he did. I've tried not to rub it in too much.

Well I passed the test in the first shot only. During my training itself i used to drive the car very well that's what the instructor had told me. When I went for the test I drove very well and was passed in the first attempt itself.
But I have seen some people who have failed in the first attempt and then later on go for a retest to get their final license. Its a real pain when such a thing happens. To go so many times to the RTO especially for people who are buys and stay far away from the RTO. I'm happy I got my license without any problems.

I took teh drivers ed calss in high school and tookt he written test in school with my teaehr, then I took the signs test at the DMV where I mised 1 sgn, and passed teh driving test with a B ( i messed up on the 3 point turn). But overall passed on the first try. If I were a person that was already on my 3rd try I think I would give up and stick to public transportation.

I was lucky enough to pass the first time that I did the exam. I was really terrified because I did not know how to do the reverse properly. The car instructor told me how to do it, the same morning that I was going to do the test.

I went for my drivers license when I was sixteen and passed the first try but I had taken a drivers program before I went for my license so I had a lot of practise before I went to try . Had I failed I would have went back again and again , although if one kept failing , one would start to feel pretty defeated . I can't imagine not having my license as I live in the country and so we are so far away from everything .
Although I did pass and have no problems driving in the area in which we live . I don't believe I would be able to drive in the city because I have a hard time understanding the lights and the four way stop and the double lanes because we have none of that where I live and because it has been so many years since I firt got my license that what I had learned , I have now forgotten because I have never had to do any of this .

Hi ya samtaylorskykierajen
Well if you have no need to go into the city then that is ok then!!. I live in a town and that is fine but I would never drive around somewhere like London unless I had someone in the passenger seat telling which lane to get into and where to turn!
Thanks

I took a written learners exam to get my learners license then drove for almost a year until i was old enough for a real drivers license. Then i took the exam a total of two times to get my license.
About 4 years later i took another drivers exam twice to upgrade my license to a higher class so i could drive ambulances.

Eventually I passed on my third attempt. Theory test and the simulation section was easy and breezed through it but the practical was a little harder. When I look back on it think I made so many mistakes because I was really nervous...it's so off putting with someone in the car watching every move you make.
Rememeber on my first test I failed for not doing a shoulder check. Not many people seem to pass first time in England anymore in alot of ways though I stongly believe failing a driving test makes you a better safer driver. Ok i'm not saying that if you fail your test about twenty times your make a safe driver because if you fail that many times there must be a very serious reason why the examiners failing you. But I do believe that passing on my third attempt has made me more cautious of the road. In past experiences I have found that young first time passers tend to be very cocky drivers who think they own the road.

I had to take mine twice (passed the second time). I will never forget why I failed the first exam - the instructor basically told me I could have killed some bikers if there had been any in the bike lane and I did not observe right of way in a three way street (I had the top sign), which could have killed US! But after that, I was very careful and passed the second one with flying colors!

I took my driving test only a few years ago so when I took my test I had to take the written part of the test. I failed it the first time I took the test so I had to take it again. However, I did pass it the second time I took the test.
Then, I had to take my driving part of the test and I only needed to take that once. I had a really evil woman going over the test with me though and tried to tell me that I had done so many things wrong. That I was driving too close to the yellow line, that I was driving too close to the white line. I wanted to ask her she wanted me to drive on the shoulder but I figured that'd probably get me an automatic fail. So I kept my mouth shut and found out I had passed but because she said I was driving too close to the lines she took off several points and I could have failed. She told me it wouldn't matter because at that rate I wouldn't be driving long anyway cause I'd end up getting myself into an accident.
Well, I have not wrecked. Ever. I think that woman just likes to see people fail. She gave all my friends hard times for their driving tests so I know it just wasnt me.

Yeah I know. It was completely out of line and it was like second nature to her, like she said that to all the teens that she worked with.

Hi ya austere
If I had to do a theory test before taking my practical I think I would have passed it no problem but I didn't have to that was even better!! I think here in the UK you get 35 questions and you have to get at least 30 questions right, thoughI am no 100% sure!
Thanks
