there was a HUGE falling out in my family.
What would you do if you found out that your oldest child was hiding what he is doing while living at home? I know that all kids will do something stupid, but this goes way beyond breaking the rules.
So, here is what happened two weeks ago tomorrow.
Everyone was gone from the house and I was thinking about checking to see if I still had my winter boots that was upstairs in a closet that used to be my room, but now my oldest and his girlfriend slept and lived in most of the time.
Not thinking nothing about it, I went into the closet while they were not home and when I opened the closet door I got the shock of a life time. He was growing weed in the closet! Now mind you, I told him when he came back to stay here I told him that he was to stay clean and there was not to be any drugs in my house.
When he comes home I tell him that I need to talk to him and tell him what I found. He totally flies off of the handle and starts saying that I invaded his privacy and also his girlfriend by going into the room when that were not home. I told him that I PAY the rent here and no one else does. He does do things like mow the lawn and once a month maybe will do dishes, but not much else.
So, now my second oldest comes home from school and my oldest is still having a fit. The one that come home from school is upstairs and I ask him if he can PLEASE get my phone and we are going to leave so everything will cool down and I gave my oldest 15 mins to get rid of the plants.
Well the oldest one slams the door in the other son's face, and actually hits him in the face and says like hell am I going to get my phone.
So, the second oldest kicks the bedroom door in and says to his brother to give him the phone. Now, I am trying to race upstairs, but with my knees and back that is not easy.
On my way up the stairs I hear, "If your going to shoot me, than shoot me!" I was scared to death and when I walk in the room my oldest was just putting the shotgun down that he had in his room, that I was also told that he got rid of when he plead guilty to robbery, but that is a totally different story.
So, I grab for my phone and he turns and so my arm had slipped around his neck because he is taller than me and I still was able to get the phone. Then he says that he is going to call the police because I tried to choke him.
I got the phone and left with my two boys, the second oldest and the youngest. I drive a short way and then I thought about that he might also hurt my dogs or kick in all of the doors that he helped put into the house.
So, I drive back home after I recheck my mind and thoughts after all of this happening so fast. When my second oldest gets out of the car the girlfriend starts screaming in his face and my son looks down on her because she is short and calls her crazy. She starts to freak out and starts punching HERSELF in the face! So, by this time somehow my oldest has the phone again. He must have been downstairs and grabbed it from the car and he calls 911 for his brother beating on his girlfriend! She even had her mouth bleeding because she was hitting herself so hard.
Now, my youngest has one of my old cell phones and he also calls 911 and so 4 cop cars show up because they have dealt with my oldest one before.
The girlfriend starts to tell the one officer how my one son was punching her in the face and I go down to the other officer and tell him what all started in the fighting.
I told him ALL that had happened, the weed, the shotgun, and the girlfriend hitting herself. While I am talking to the officer the other officer sees my oldest running to the woods, because this is what he does ALL of the time.
So, my second oldest starts telling the officer everything that I just said. So, things are calming down and so my second oldest takes the officers upstairs and they brought down the weed and the shot gun and one shell, here the shell was NOT in the gun at all, just in the same room.
My second oldest had called his girlfriend that lives in Akron and she picks him up and then the girlfriend is waiting for her ride and she is getting her clothes together.
So, we all go into the house and here my son back tracked and was hiding in the attic!
So, my question is, what would you have done if this happened to you?

First, KaySue, if it was my house, there never would have been my son having a live-in girlfriend. And I own my home, not my children (they are both gone from home now with their own families), and it's my business what goes on in my home. I would probably have been checking out the room myself, considering your son has had these problems before. But, it sure was disrespectful of him to bring the weed growing into your home! Is this not against the law and could possibly get you in trouble, with it growing in your home?
I believe I'd not allow him to live in my home anymore since you can't trust him. It is dangerous for both you and your other two children. If he's out of school and working, he can find some place else to live. Sometimes you have to have tough love for your children. He needs some professional help, for sure, and prayer.

Holy whack man.!! This is gone way beyond breaking rules.!! Growing weed?? Fu*k man.! Is he an addict? The first thing you should do is get him into a rehabilitation centre bro. Please don't take me wrong. And as for that girl, you will need to do something bout her man. Prove her wrong man. Sh*t i didn't know things like this exist in world. I thought it was only for the movies. As for your oldest, I think he seriously will need some counseling after the matter subsides. But you will need to be careful after the things will get back to normal. You will need to keep a continuous eye on him..
