I see it all the time and it's not cool. Please, please, please... don't text while you're driving. As sure of yourself as you are, it's not really fair to the rest of us on the road to assume that you won't miss seeing our children crossing at a light or that you won't drift just enought from your lane into mine to cause an accident.
I've seen it all! Even children texting while riding their bikes. The other day a young boy (maybe 8) was texting on his phone while biking and actually passed directly through the intersection in front of my home without even looking up! If I were his mom and I'd witnessed that, NO MORE PHONE! Oh, it's scary!

Technology is great but with it comes alot of responsibility. Personally I think texting should be banned from cars. It's really dangerous to have your attention divided between your driving, your typing and your reading. It's a great recipe for disaster. Thankfully I don't do the whole cellphone-texting thing...I can't stand cellphones. Although several ppl in my family have cellphones I don't think any of them text while driving.

Where I live you are not allowed to use a cell while driving so there is no chance one will be soon doing this . It is a hefty fine for doing this and those that used to do it all the time have stopped . Like you I agree it is way to dangerous to not only yourself but all the other people on the road . I was in agreement when they passed this law in our area as I never text and would never have thought to do this while I was driving , that would be as bad as someone thinking they could read a book while they were driving . It is insane that one would think they were in complete control of vechile while texting because without your eyes on the road you are taking a big risk in not seeing what could jump out in front of you , causing an unnecessary accident .

oh I absolutely agree! The only texting that should be going on in a car is from a PASSENGER! I believe it is actually illegal to be on the phone in your car in some states and counties. I wish that were how it was here, I'd feel much more safe. Im already paranoid from being in 1 car crash in my life. There are too many people that I know that have been in more than 2 car crashes, that is just wayy to many!
