Our country is still vulnerable to terrorist attack...
I'm voting for John McCain.
Raising taxes on the middle class (even the upper middle class) is not going to create jobs or stimulate the economy. In fact, those businesses that are owned and operated by the very people Obama wants to increase taxes on, will have to let employees go.
I'm voting for John McCain.
McCain wants to cut spending... wasteful government spending. This is the answer.
Obama wants to increase the size and function of government in your life and in mine... which can only mean more spending. More spending!
Please don't support socialized medicine in the United States. The government is not financially responsible and they don't know how to manage squat. What makes us think they could manage health care? Why should all of us be subject to their government run system of doctors and hospitals? Why not just those without another option? I like my freedom and the options I have for selecting hospitals and doctors. If I don't like a doctor, I can choose another and with my health the way it is, that is a freedom I can't imagine living without.

I am for McCain also. I am scared of a man that doesn't hold his hand on his heart during the United States pledge. So Obama has pretty much had me scared since I first heard about him. Besides that what has Obama done for the united States. At least Mccain fought for us.

I wonder that myself about him not saying the pledge. Of course he is not from the United States. I was surprized that he was even allowed to run for President. I have read that he was raised in Hawaii. I think. I wonder if he is really for us or against us.

Hello Wsue1023,
Your quote:
"The government is not financially responsible and they don't know how to manage squat.

Why should all of us be subject to their government run system of doctors and hospitals? Why not just those without another option?
I like my freedom..."
I hope that you don't mind that I have reiterated your oh-so-salient points. I personally believe that your words should be injected into every single political discussion in this country today! Our federal beurocracy has proven over and over again that it cannot be trusted with the taxpayers money! Social Security, Medicare, the 1980s S&L, the current banking (now including foreign banks) bail-out, and perhaps most egregiously Fannie & Freddi, which we're now finding out were created with a CEO escape hatch. Congress created these two quasi private/gov't agencies with a precondition that would require the taxpayer to bail them out if they ever got into financial trouble. This almost seems to me like it was designed as a self-fulfilling prophecy.
I would urge all to read the following links:

(excerpt from first link)
"Former Clinton (commentary: Obama's housing and mortgage advisor - see second link above) administration budget adviser and current Obama housing adviser Franklin Raines perpetrated an Enron-like accounting scandal as chief executive officer of Fannie Mae, resulting in his receiving millions in compensation over a six-year period.
Raines and two other top Fannie Mae executives agreed to pay $24.7 million, including a $2 million fine, to settle a civil lawsuit filed in December 2006. It accused Raines and the two other executives of manipulating Fannie Mae earnings, allowing executives to pocket hundreds of millions in bonuses from 1998 to 2004, according to the Associated Press.
It would seem that there are far too many in Washington who believe that we taxpayers have 'money trees' growing in our back yards. And, that we don't mind paying the price for others' unscrupulous profiteering. Yup, they just keep on sockin' it to the dupable taxpayer -- Grrr!!!

Thanks for all the great comments. I am shocked to have had so much positive feedback towards my initial plea concerning the upcoming election.
It feels good to know McCain has so much support out there. I know the nations is pretty divided, but typically on message boards I primarily find liberal minded folk! I feel like I'm in good company here.
