Will eating only vegetables and no rice/wheat items reduce weight.

Hey all who can give losing weight tips, can I do this diet. I am a pure vegetarian.
And I am trying to lose weight. Hence planning to give up all rice/wheat based products. Will it help?

No I don't believe that cutting out all rice or wheat products from your diet will help you lose weight. They are needed by the body to process into energy and by cutting out carbs completely you will throw off the balance of your body's nutrition. The main things to focus on are cutting out or lessening fats and high fructose corn syrup. Also eating at regular intervals throughout the day and keeping up good portion control is vital. Exercise is the main way to lose weight there's no two ways about it, you only lose weight if you're burning more calories than you are taking in.
