Im trying to make a horror movie with my friends, nothing to big obviously (we dont have a budget) the problem is I have to write it and I'm completely stumped. I have no clue what to write. How do you cure writers block? And do you have any ideas for a horror flick.

I often get writers block, and my cure is to just let it sit for a few hours or more. Usually when I come back to it the next day, or even after having a bite to eat, my mind is refreshed and ideas are flowing back.
It seems though that you have been stumped for a while (Not sure though) So I would just try brainstorming ideas you had around the horror flick. They could very well have absolutely nothing to do with the script, but just thinking of possible scenerios can get your mind moving.
Just a thought. =D

There are many ways to cure writers block, but I believe that probably the best way is to listen to music that you love. When you hear lyrics and things that inspire you and soothes you, its SO much easier and it brings words to mind!! TRY IT OUT!

I know the feeling. I got that too sometimes when I was writing a novel (or even when I writing in myLot). You can have a walk, or maybe have some fun with your friends. If you want to make a horror movie, ask them to talk about scary stuffs, add a little imagination in the conversation and somehow you would get many new ideas from talking with your fellows. Good luck writing babytaffster...

Since you don't have a budget, I would recommend something along the lines of a psychological thriller so you don't need all the special effects. Having something suspenseful with a twist at the end no one would suspect or see coming would be a great plot for a low budget film. For the writer's block, I would recommend as most have, to just walk away from it for a while and try not to think about it. Usually when you are not trying so hard, something will come to you.

I would just say think if the things that scare you the most, ask other people what scares them and work on that. One thing I would say, if you don't have a big budget, work on something atmospheric rather than trying to create anything too visual as it might look really cheesy - so no monsters or whatever.
I know that's not much help. Um, let me think of things that scare nearly everyone...
- not being able to scream out or run away
- finding evil where you don't expect it - in children, in parents etc.
I must say, horror is pretty difficult to pull off if you have no budget. I'll let you know if I think of anything.

When i have writers block playing a game of hypotherical here is a hypotherical game here http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/1712185.aspx or you can just think of a hypothetical situation and walk your self through what you would do and what might happen in your hypothetical situation. This is a great way to brain strom and think of new ideas.

I don't believe in writer's block. Just take your time and think about an idea, and you'll be free in no time. Make a list of ten ideas and go from there. Start a journal. There are all kinds of ways to relieve yourself from writer's block.

Try reading or watching some things in the genre. It might kick-start your own creative process.
