Why wasn't Marine awarded Medal of Honor?

Lawmakers seek review of denied Medal of Honor case. President Bush asked to review why Marine was denied the Medal of Honor. Witnesses: Sgt. Rafael Peralta covered a grenade with his body to save comrades. Officials earlier determined nomination did not meet the standard to receive award. Excuse me? Man dies saving lives of others gets blown to bits in the process..WHAT IS THE STANDARD THEN? Does this seem nuts to anyone else? http://www.cnn.com/2008/US/09/20/grenade.death.ap/index.html

He should receive the Medal Of Honor and the Purple Heart Medal for his fast thinking and for saving the lives of many people. If asked I bet those who survived thinks he deserves a medal and more. This man whose memory will love on in those he saved. I think they should not be so stingy with the medals and give this person one to show his memory will be honored as it should. He took his own life to save many. He deserves a medal..If they don't think he deserves one then we need to get somebody who isn't heartless in office to make sure those who serve their country and die showing how much they love their country should be honored to show that their life, hopes, and dreams weren't for nothing. but meant something.

"Military Intelligence" is an oxymoron.

That is something else. I am not sure what it takes anymore for people to get the respect that they truly deserve. It is just sickening anymore.
