My mother has it, and dealing with that as a child was difficult, but the thing you've just got to understand is that their moods or feelings, although drastic, are all so personal...I don't know if I'm explaining it correctly, but the thing you've just got to do is just deal with it and remember to love that person..no matter what their current mood is.

Honestly, it's like a culture shock for me too, I haven't encountered anyone with this disorder before where I was born, and I have lived 28 years there, when i got to US, that's when I get to know this disorder and I'm dealing with person that has it now... it wasn't easy for me at first because it's really surprising for me... but I know I can handle it now. Thank you so much for your advice. I will give all my loving for that person.

Bipolar is a very tough disorder. I have 3 friends that have this disorder. I dont see them alot so i dotn spend alot of time with them, but i still can see the affects of it. In most cases a person with Bipolar will have extreme mood changes, not just happy and then sad a few mins later. I am talking they can be in a middle of a conversatiion about say, about a movie a comedy, they are smiling laughing about it, and though the yare on the same subject, they might totally stop the laughing and get angry or just get real quiet and walk off by themselves. this is just an example that I have seen in one of my friends, and each of my friends when they told me they had this warned me of the extreme high and lows that they have. Most times it can be controlled with medication, but not always. Many can and do live very productive normal lives with this disorder, and others, even with medication, cant even hold a job, because it is so bad for them. I believe their are online support groups or sites that you can check into where you can go and "vent" so to say about experiences you have had with a loved one who may have it, and ask advice from others. Its worth checking into. Good luck

If I am correct bi polars suffers from depression and are moody people. Bipolar disorder cannot be cured. They are treated with mood stabilizer medication and anti depressants.

Myself, my mother and my grandmother all have it. My mother needs medication or else she's more or less insane. I've never taken a medication for it, but I may need to start in the next few years or so because I do feel it slipping out of my control. Bipolar disorder is a mental illness that causes extreme attitude changes called manic and depressive. It can't be cured, but it usually needs to be treated with therapy and medication.
