I don't know if there are alot of Jamaicans here from home or aboard. There is a issue that is happening in this party that I love so much that it pains my heart. There was a challenge for the President Position mind you the seat is not vacant. President Portia Simpson-Miller had been in this position since 2006. I am proud of her. She is from the grass root. She has toiled hard for this Party. The incumbent Vice President Dr. Peter Phillips has put up a challenge which they are voting today. You know what pains me is that the ones that she has toiled in the field with seeing that they return their seats are the same one backing Peter Phillips. They are saying that Portia does not have a PH.D and that she is not educated enough. She runs the country for 18 months and this country was bless. She is a devoted christian and God was there with her. But the backbiting has made her lose her way and depending on the same one that didn't want her there in the first place. There is a thing there which is intellectual and grass roots. Portia has Ministries that was successful more than even Peter Phillips. The only success that he has was Ministry of Transport. Portia has Local Goverment and Sports, Labour Security/Sports and Tourism/Sports. The latter they are still using her manifesto that she has done couple years ago. Now how can a dunce run three successful Ministries. I hope that the delegates has sense and vote for her. I will be surely disappointed tomorrow if I found out otherwise. Because if it is that Phillips win I will no longer be voting for the PNP neither do I love the JLP so I will go to the NDM. Do you think it is right for a Vice President to challenge a sitting President?

18 months? She runs the place for that long and then they think she isn't educated or qualified enough? What a load of horse manure

Yes fwidman, you see here in Jamaica if you don't come from the elite then you are not eligible. I am just waiting for the result tomorrow. I hope that she wins and throw out the vipers them that want to over throw her.

Hello fwidman, I have good news, she has won and won big too. I am so happy. Now she can do business by cleaning out the house. God is so good. I am telling you it is a blessing to see that one who worship him in openness can be joyful today.

I love Jamaican Politics. "Mi deh yah!!!" for those foreigner on mylot that is Jamaican creole that means I am here. I am a peoples National Party Supporter and Voted in the last general election. I am currently not in Jamaica. Will return to vote in the next general elections for Mama P. However, irrespective of the ills brought on by the challenge of the leadership by Dr. Peter Phillips, I thinks we should move forward and put our party machinery together to maximize the amount of our party faithfuls return vote for the Peoples National Party. For too long now we as a people and members of party, myself as a delegate have had to be going through this leadership battle. The party head must realize that no longer must cause our party to be divided rather we should learn from the two leadership races and write party rules to dealt with any future attempt to derail the party leadership. It is nice that you were open about the party because we can use this medium to talk to prospective voters and our party faithfuls to swing votes we have not been able to get and to educate the young Jamaican on the history of our PNP and what the JLP stand for thus the economic conditions as it worsens now under their leadership and the consequence of future victory for the JLP. 65Million Dollar only welcoming back Olympians from Baijin.

Hello Nadine, it is good to find another comrade. Yes the leadership battle has to stop and I have seen were Robert has drafted up a document to ensure that this does not happen again. I think that what Peter Phillips has done was to end his career instead of waiting his turn. I was disappointed that he didn't put the party first and went to the 70th Convention. I love the P.N.P. because what it stands for is justice and equality amongst all whether you are rich or poor. Alot of young persons didn't understand the policy of the J.L.P. and the elders didn't educated them enough. Well they are feeling it now. I know that if it was Peter who has won Jamaica would now be in an election mode. God knows what is best and I pray and hope that Mama P will continue to be the vibrant person she is. Continue to be the comrade you are. Kerry
