A coworker of my friend buys him a drink once in awhile but its ALWAYS a diet drink.. whether its soda or tea etc.. my friend doesnt have a weight problem and has lost weight before he was bought any but he is wondering if there is a hidden meaning or what.. their was also another person that did it too.. are they just diet drink addicts or do they think he is fat or prediabetic or something?

Hmmm... maybe they don't even think about it- are they drinking diet themselves or are they having regular and just get the diet drink for him? Now that would be rude.
I am normal weight but I drink diet for two reasons... One, I don't like the empty calories, I could eat more food and still be under the 1700 calorie mark for the day. The second reason is I cannot tolerate that much sugar. It gives me headaches and messes with my energy levels.

Maybe they just like diet drinks? Just because it says "diet" on the container, doesn't mean the person drinking it actually on a diet. It just means the soda is made without the all those sugary syrups and not everyone likes that.
I don't get why you call it being an "addict", either.

I can understand them liking the diet drinks but they are getting it for someone else who doesn't usually drink diet drinks. Its like they are pushing them on him all the time and i am just wondering why someone would do that.

Maybe because that's what they usually drink and they just don't think about it. It goes both ways. People who drink sugary drinks give what they drink to people who don't, too.

As you may already know that diabetis is a genetic disease and people whose parents ared diabetic have 90% chances of getting this disease of diabetes in any stage of their lives. In my opinion, people who drink diet soft drinks are a little health conscious and don't want to drink extra sugar. As diet soft drinks only contain one calorie and by doing so they also stop adding extra pounds. In my friends, there is no one with this habit of drinking diet soft drinks.

Thats all find and dandy but that doesn't explain why someone who drinks diet sodas would buy the for someone who does not.
