Dog shot while walking in countryside

Things like this just make me sick...kids and animals; the purest, most innocent of victims. They do NOTHING to deserve creulty like this. I could not even imagine something like this happening to one of my dogs, or any of my aniamls. I get extremely upset when my animals die or age/natural causes--but actually being hurt and killed!? I don't know how I could handle it...that poor woman! I feel so sorry for her :( I hope whoever is responsible gets caught...because if he's shooting at movement in the dark, one day he's going to mistake what he's seeing and kill a person! And I hope those pug puppies are okay!

Hi ronald'..I would seriously like to know the answer to this question myself-we are the cruelest animals on the planet and kill for the fun of it for our own self gain but you take our furry pets loving and loyal all they ask for is to be fed etc and do not kill for the fun of it then we have wild animals but even they don't kill for the fun of it they kill for survival...we are the barbarians and pay no respect to our fellow creatures-it annoys me so much and makes me sick just to think how children of today find it fun to do such a thing just for fun...littleowl

Hi ronaldinu, I have asked the same question many times, why is man so cruel with animals? When I was a small boy someone shot my cat for target practice, or maybe just for sport, I'm not sure. I have never forgotten it and I am always kind to animals. I get angry when I hear of such cruelty. Blessings.

Thats terrible! I am not sure why people are so cruel but they should really be ashamed to harm an innocent animal!

that is heart breaking i dont personally own a dog but i do associate with alot of dog owners and they are wonderfull companions. I don't think I'll ever understand the cruelty of some people, I wish that karma does them justice and they get their just desserts, dogs are meant to be loved and cared for not shot and abused, theirs absolutly no reason to hurt any type of animal whether it be food, protection or just for the sick fun that some people have.

Sounds like what probably happened to my cat which I've also discussed on here. It's just pathetic & sad.

That is horrible , I hope they find whoever did this !! It is said that if one can injure an animal and not give it any thought that they would not give much thought to hurting a human either . Years ago friends of ours had a pet turkey . Actually the pet belonged to there son who was only about three at the time . One day they had a bunch of children over at the house and they were all outside playing with the turkey when the next door neighbor came outside . The chidlren were ranging in age from three to twelve and there were at least ten or more of them . The next door neighbor had no use for pets and made this clear to all of them when he chased the turkey and wrung its neck in front of all the children . Needless to say the children were devestated . My friends called the cops and were told to keep all the children in the house because anyone who could do something like this does not value human life and would not think twice about hurting one of the children . I am not sure whatever happened to this man who did this but a few years later he moved away . After this many of us that saw him nicknamed him the turkey killer !! Animals are to be taken of not to be used as a target practice !!

That is awful. I wish they could catch the people who do things like this. I would be so upset if it was my dog that someone shot but then I would never let my dog roam around on his own at night. I cannot understand how people can be so cruel to animals. It is a shame that they could not save the poor dog. I have heard of teenagers doing things like this.

The shooter probably do not believe in the saying "Be kind to animal". How could he do such a cruel thing to a dog. Unless a dog turns crazy and became threat to lives of people, no one has the right to shoot the dog. Dogs deserve to keep their lives just as human. They are man's best friend after all.

I agree with you there about that it not right that a poor dog should be put down be cause of there stupid ways of having if they call that fun ?I would call that cruel They should find the person who did that to the poor dog. CHARGE HIM. for it. cd

Sad innit,when you think that the animal is just the innocent thing here,and then they go aand maim it,they are real sickos thats all I can say.I saw a story on the local news,a dog had managed to escape from home,and it didnt go very far,but it was attacked by some lads,and then they poured boiling oil all over the dig,now can you believe that,its sick,and the dig was in agony,but the vet was so sure that he could save the dog,and he did,the dig ewas great,happy and smiling,the thugs need shooting.

that is really messed up, its like no one has anything better to do then to just lay around and do nothing all day. Eventually everything's gonna look fun to you and there you go you've just killed an innocent dog. The dog did nothing to the person but yet still it got shot. I guess the best excuse could be maybe the person was drunk?

That is terrible, how people can do this to animals, there are a lot of sick minds out there, I can't abide cruelty to animals, there is no excuse, how would this 'person' like it if someone took a shot at him? He'd soon start complaining and suing, but what rights do animals have, people think it's funny and clever to hurt animals, and know they can get away with it. If stiffer penalties were imposed and carried out then people might think twice about their actions, I say might, some people are beyond help!

The man thinks his is the only valuable life on earth. There is no way to find that brute and if there is put a bullet in leg to know how it feels to have one.
