The internet is the best thing that has happened in the 21st century

Forgive me if i'm wrong but apart from computers and some other electronics I would say that the internet is the most useful thing that has every been created. I don't know what would happen to me if there was no internet but I can tell you life would be very miserable.
Just the fact that you literally have any and all information right at your fingertip 24 hours a day is mind boggling in itself but also the communication aspect is awesome in that whether it is night or day you can keep in live contact with someone half-way across the world for free.
I am crazy about the internet and I utilize it for all purposes if you have thought on the matter please post...

Hi, Yes I agree with you that internet is the best thing that has happened in this century. It has a lot of pros. But let me tell you my friend, there are a lot of cons too. When I grew up (I'm from India) we had not computers, leave alone the internet. Computers were still a fascination. Moreover television relay too was yet to come. (I'm talking about the 60s). We had no other choice than to play outside. We knew every one on the street as we used to cycle a lot, up and down. We knew every face. We spend every festival in each others house, be it Hindu, Christian, Muslim or Sikh. Oh, it was so much more fun. To sum it up, there was a human relationship. Now most of the kids don't even know who is living in the third house from theirs. I'm not criticising the internet, but I do wish we could blend in both the old and new ways of living. What a wonderful world this would be.

I think you are right and I am thankful because I was born at this time of modern technology. I can't imagine myself browsing over thick books of encyclopedias just to find something for my assignment or research. Thanks to the different search engines, I can always answer questions ask to me by my teachers and I can give them a full detail in support to my answer but we must be careful in using the net. If it is used for wrongdoings, it will bring evil result but if it is used correctly, I will always give a fruitful result.

I truly agree! The work of computers won't be maximized if there's no Internet, and people won't use computers much! No games, no instant free communications, no help for work, etc. Now I experienced the Internet, I think I'll be useless if its gone.
So Internet happened in the 21st Century?
