Yeah kaspersky is the best one , I'm using it too , and it is very helpful and useful too, it protects my PC very well and he can update itself by itself so no matter about that , it scans my machine each time when it feels something anormal with files , folders and locations .. it is great because it is easy to use ,there is no complication on his menu , many options , msot of them are so important if you wanna keep your computer safe and clean...I do advice it as the best of the best ,I tried it and I liked the way that it uses to destroy a virus.

supererocker is right. I have a considerably good amount of ram, still my pc slowed a little bit after I installed it. Thats why I changed to kaspersky.

I can't recommend the best but I have been using AVG Free Edition for years now and I have never had any problems. It is available fee to download on the internet and you get automatic updates every day. Best of luck.

Don't mind me asking one more thing. avg8, nod32, avast etc... does these anti viruses provide online protections like anti dialer and anti phishing ? Coz my kaspersky provides it.

i dont think these softwares like avg,nod32..provide online protection.
in my opinion they are very good softwares for ofline virus protection..
also i think the securities provided by them against physhing and spywares
are also not enough..
and i didnt use ksperesky ,but heared that it is good

I would recommend trend micro. It doesn't only remove virus but it also fixed your regisrtry. Though it's not free. I would also recommend AVG or Nod 32

dude there is nothing like a best anti-virus... it's all a relative term... not one antivirus is perfect... i have used Kaspersky internet security and there is nothing wrong with except it uses more memory than others like nod32, avira or avast... all of them fare equally well.. but not full proof/... also the new avg 8 is good enough in all respects... but from my experience, i have found that not all viruses can be caught by the same antivirus.. i have caught viruses using avg that was not detected by kaspersky and vice versa.. so if you want to catch only the real trouble makers any one of the things will suffice.. but i don't think it's possible to have a full proof protection...

i am using nod32 antivirus. Its doesn't make any conflicts with other software that i installed in my pc. Nod 32 will not make my pc slow down.
