This weekend I made the dried beef at home and that tastes so wonderful I searched the information about how to make it via the net. Of course I modify it by myself and here it's the result
The ingredients includes 500g beef, red wine, soy sauce and sugar.
The proportion for red wine, soy sauce and sugar is 3:2:1. Mix them in a big bowl and then put the beef inside. Let the beef soak inside for about 2 hours.
Then put the beef on the rack to dry for about 1 hour (I use a fan so that it will dry faster).
Spread some oil and honey on both sides of the beef. Put it inside the oven and the temperature is about 100 degrees for about 5 minutes. Then turn over the beef and spread the honey again for 5 minutes. Continue to do so for about 5 times until the beef is almost done. Then use 200 degrees to bake about 3 minutes.
See the picture, isn't it attractive?

Mmmm... what an interesting recipe. I had no idea you could cook beef with honey. Doesn't it become too sweet for lunch? I don't have an oven; otherwise, I could have given it a try. Only way I know how to cook beef is to do with a lot of pepper of chilli. :)
Cheers and happy mylotting

Nopes, the very idea of using honey for meat dishes is new to me. :) That's why I was so fascinated with this recipe.
Cheers!

Hi you are really a genius in cooking, youless, But it’s rather sad that I don’t have the opportunity to have a taste on those yummy foods like moon cake and dried meat. I’m sorry to say that for certain reason, I don’t take beef.
Anyway according to your recipe step by step, I believe there is no problem to use pork or chicken instead of using beef to prepare dried meat. Or might be the method and ingredient using to prepare dried beef are totally different to that of other meat. Anyway don’t laugh at me as you know very well I’m not good in cookery.
posting and have a nice day.

Good evening, youless. I took some time to have a look at the picture first before responding to this discussion. I have to say that it is really cool of you to be able to make so delicious dried beef, which is one of your greatest masterpiece I have ever seen, including the moon-cakes weeks ago. I think that I would try to move to work somewhere in Guangzhou in a couple of years so that I could have more chances to taste the delicious food you will make later on. lol. Keep it up, youless.

congrats! i don't really cook, but i do love to bake, and i love it when i made something that i am so proud of! for my son's first birthday party i made a rice krispie treat cake- it had 3 tiers and was decorated with hershey kisses and m&m's. it came out looking so cute and i was so proud of myself! thanks also for the recipe- my hubby likes dried beef- maybe i can try making it sometime for him. :)
