Do you have life insurance or have you thought about getting it ? Do you worry about the expensises that will be left behind for your family to take care of after you are gone ? Do you put off getting life insurance because it seems to final ? My mother and her boyfriend lived togehter for many years . He had life insurance but never changed it when they got together because he thought he still had many years left to live so he kept putting it off . He ended up passing away rather quickly after they had been together for a few years when he went in for a full medical check up and was told he was so fit that he would live to be 100 . Within a couple of months he had died because of cancer . This was really hard on my mother that she had lost someone she loved very much but also she lost everything she had worked for all the years they had been together because he had never changed his life insurance and his first wife and daughter ended up with everything including all the things that she had paid for in the house because she was listed as one of the people on his insurance papers . Do you know anyone this has happeded to ? Do you have life insurance and do you keep changes updated ?

my husband has life insurance... i do not. i really don't know much about it. we did just last year set up a will, though. it was something that we both wanted to do- that was if anything were to happen to us our children would be with someone of our choosing and would be well taken care of. there was also the concern of if one or both of us was seriously injured in a car crash or something and could not make medical decisions, we wanted to appoint someone to do so for us.

I don't need life insurance because I am a single man, I do not have a family so if I die I have no one to leave the money to, except for the government and I am certainly not going to do that, I will make sure I have enough money to be buried but apart from that there is no need for me to take out life insurance, I have no dependents or no one to leave behind.

No I don't have life insurance . I know I should get one but with all the bills right now not sure if I could afford to get it . It woudl be good to know that my kids would not have to pay the expenses when I pass away and I will try to get something when I am in better financial shape and hopefully that will be soonrer rather then later .

My husband and I just recently got life insurance for ourselves. I think that it is important because in life, you never know what could happen. We both want to be taken care of in the event, that he, or I pass. I feel good that we have it now and I know that it will be worth it in the end. As much as I don't like the thought of losing him, it is a part of life.

I agree it is important to have it is something that we do not like to think about but would make things a little easier for the ones we leave behind . Some day I hope to get some but right now it is just beyond our means . Thank you for your response .

I have my life insurance. My mother took me in there because it would be necessary for us if we are sick the insurance would pay for the hospital. It happened weeks ago when my sister has to get hospitalized, the insurance paid almost everything that she has to pay and it was really helpful. My mom also have a life insurance and also my dad. They put our name (me and my siblings on the paper)

I have not heard of a similar story up till now. But your story is a real eye opener for the rest of us. I have made a life insurance which will mature on the 60th birthday. At least I could have something in return after 30 years working hard for it.

Yes we do. It is like a safety net. If heaven forbid something happens to one of us, we will at least have the peace of mind knowing at least some financial arrangement will have been made for our daughter. It can cut into the yearly budget, but better safe than sorry. We we even have the Gerber life plan for daughter. She can use that when she gets older.

I do have a Life insurance. It not only helps me as a tax benefit, but also secures my future. I was not very serious about life insurance 5 years ago. But being a mother I felt the need to insure my life as well as secure my daughters future.

Thanks for reminding me. I have an insurance and I think I haven't updated it yet. I have my two sons as my beneficiaries and I have three sons now. Thanks again. I will have to schedule when I can go to the insurance company to update it.

Not yet but I am still young enough to get it in a few years and I will probably look into it more then . Right now I only have a boy friend to worry about and I am not sure if we will even be together years from now and will think about it more when I have my own familly to think about . I do not really know many people with it . I know it is good to have but not sure how to get it either .

Insurance - Policy
I do have insurance policies. We really want our family to at least get some money just in case we leave them abruptly. But I am sure they would prefer having us in the flesh than the money they would be getting. I keep updating it as the need arises. As an example my mom is the sole beneficiary when I was still single but since I married I made my mother and wife fifty-fifty beneficiaries.

Very sorry for you and your mother, especially. I do have life insurance thru my company but it was not something that I put any money into. (I am not sure how comprehensive it is and I don't think it is much). If I had kids, I think I probably would look into getting a better life insurance plan but right now, it is just my husband and me.
