Where is the alarm clock in your bedroom?
Ours is on the other side of the bedroom, so we have to get out of bed to turn it off. Doesn't matter if it is summer or winter if the clock is on the bedside table we just turn it off and roll back over and go back to sleep, so if we actually have to get out of bed to turn it off its better. Its by the bedroom door and our room is right next door to the toilet so by the time you have been to the toilet we are wide awake and reaching for the dressing gown.

Well I'm worst at this. I always ended up wrecking alarm clocks. This might sound crazy but whenever I hear the alarm, I reach it out and turn it off then eventually ended up throwing it into the wall. I'm kinda stupid when it comes to this, as I set alarm in the evening to wake me up by morning but when the alarm started I go frenzy and the next thing I notice, the alarm clock is broken. There is one time when I used my cellphone for alarm, I have thrown it when it started the beeping. Luckily, it landed over the laundry. So I never get to used to alarm myself to wake up anymore.

hehe, this is EXACTLY the reason i have mine as far from my bed
as possible.
i always have a nightmare about hitting the snooze button
and missing work.
i think it should be 2 snoozes and then the alarm blares louder
that would work.
when it was right next to my bed, i think i hit snooze without
even waking up....which is the worst !

My alarm clock is..under my bed. ; ) I reach over to turn in off, and fall off my bed, onto another bed, and that's what wakes me up. I'm suddenly surprised I never got hurt. : ) Another alarm clock I have is on top of a cabinet, so I have to climb up to reach it and turn it off.

Alarm clocks? Definitely not for me! I tend to wake up to natural light. You're enjoying a nice sleep and then all of a sudden this alarm clock starts blaring away, it's enough to make you throw the thing at the wall. Now, if you're talking about those cutie pie alarm clocks like Bart Simpson and other funny alarm clocks, well I don't mind them! They can actually help you get off to a good start, a bit of humour and so forth. All said and done, I much prefer waking up to natural daylight! Andrew

We have two clocks. One for my husband, and one for me. Ours are on our bed right by our heads. I never have to set my alarm because I don't work. So, it doesn't matter what time I get up. I usually wake up early anyways. My husband works nights so he sets his for 8 PM. If he doesn't get up, I wake him. But he's good about getting up when his alarm goes off.

You are right. The clock is across the room. I am the one who hears it, and I have to get up, go around the bed to turn it off. Then I go down the hall to the bathroom.I do not habitually turn it off, but it has happened a time or two. This way is just better.

My alarm clock is on the locker beside my bed. I don't really need an alarm clock as I am alway awake before it goes off but I set it...just in case. I would love to be able to sleep until the clock goes off but old habits die hard.

The alarm clock is on the other side of the room. The bedroom is right across from the bathroom so it is the same thing. By the time I go to the bathroom and get through I am getting fully awake. Of course it doesn't take much for me to wake up anyway. But it is a good thing that the alarm is not right next to the bed. Or I might very well turn it off and go back to sleep.

Our alarm clock is set just far enough away from the bed that I have to get up, go around the bed and just it off. However, most mornings, I wake up just before it goes off. Even though I am awake, I still jump a foot off the bed when it does go off.

Hey there Anne18
My alarm clock is beside my bed on the bedside cabinet. I have two alarms set on it, one for 7.15 to tell me it is nearly time to get up and the other at 7.30 in time for the news, which I listen to and then get up. 15 Minutes doesn't give me a chance to get back into a really deep sleep again!

Mine is on the table on the other end of my bed. So i need to craw all the way to the other end to switch it off. But most of the time i will still drop back to my bed and snooze the alarm. Wait for 9 more minutes then i will get up.

My alarm clock is on my nightstand next to my bed.
One time, I purpousley placed the alarm clock on the floor across the room so this way I would have to get out of bed to shut it off.
I had to do this because ocassionally I would hit the snooze button on the clock and then it took me that much later to get out of bed.

Great topic. I miss alarm clocks especially now that mobile phones have already alarms. I just charge my phone and set the time and how many days shall I wake up. Then sometimes if I still feel very sleepy I put it into snooze.

Mine is next to my bed but the easiest button to press is the snooze button so even if i roll over and fall back asleep it will wake me up again!! i think i'd be too lazy to get up and switch it off if it was on the other side of the room, i'd just put up with the noise!! hehe xxx

My alarm clock is on the other side of the room. For the same reason as yours so that i will have to get up and turn it off. If not i will go back to sleep. Sometimes i still go lay back down telling myself i wont fall asleep but then i do. lol.
