Difficult to Cope with the Literary Works

Yes, I like to read famous literary works in my spare time.I never expect that one day I would make a research on them. My English literary teacher is a capable person that she knows proundly about the works and how to interprete them in various ways .However she never tell us the effetive techniques and ways to reading and comprehending. Last week she asked us to read the book Pride and Prejudice wrote by Austens.She made a list of tweleve questions about it and even now I haven't done. I hope somebody can help me , give me some advice and provide much resource such as useful websites or books. This year an essay should be handed in .I hope I can make a great progress in my writing.
