Most parents are concern with what names they give when the child is born. There are also parents who are not particular in giving names. Now that your an adult, when did you come to realize that your name is important to you? How does it connect with you as human being?

i am thankful for my name. it means goddess. but i don't get to live up with it. i like my name. but my name is not me. it's just the word that gives me individuality. there's a whole lot of facets you have to look at in a person and not just the name. when i named my daughter i considered it's meaning. my daughter's name means life and i almost lost her. her other name is the female version of her dad's name because she looks like her dad.

yeah...i agree with you..i think it's the person behind the names matters. Cause no matter how sweet or bitter name you have it depends on YOU.

what a great question! my name is very important for me and that is the most important word that i heard from some people that i met with out your name how people can recognize you how can you be famous with out name?how can you make friend with out your name they cant describe you as a person with out your name. try to look the book of mr. Dale Carnegie the title is how to win friends and influence people. it was stated that the sweetest word that person can ever heard is her or his name

I think it has more to do with the individual, the problem is not the fact that names have meaning. It's that names are most of the time chosen by the by the parents, not by the child when he's of age... So they feel like they should have a different name. It would give them the chance to finally deem themselves as something other than the spawn of their parent's loins.

My name is not that important.. Well, actually it is not parents who chose my name but it is the brother of my dad who have me the name (who I really hate).. Accordingly to him, since I was born in December and near on Christmas so he just got the Chris in it and since "KRIS AQUINO" is very popular that time so, instead of Chris, he changed it into "KRIS" and just added "TALYN"... So, my name is "KRISTALYN", I don't know where did he get that name "TALYN"..
