I think it's ice crystals that cause this, we see if often here and say that it means rain, but I haven't noticed that it does. It often makes a very pretty sight so enjoy.

The ice is way up high, I'll look for a scieence link so you can read about it. But I know the whole earth is surrounded by extreme cold if you go up high enough

How beautiful! Was this in the morning, afternoon, or evening? We often get that in the evening. Usually the next day or that night, it rains. But not always. I've never been to Indonesia, but I would like to go some day. Maybe when and if the world is a more stable place.

Thank's for the response. I found the answer : it because the ice crystal cloud make the sunlight become dispersion

That picture is very very impressive. I wonder if it is because of the gases or different things happening in the atmosphere . I will have to look it up . I did not go outside today much so I didn't have a chance to look at it . It is very very pretty though. Thank you so much for posting the picture , and I hope this finds you well .

Here is a site that you can check out. They have tons of great pictures of all kinds of atmospheric events like Halos and rainbows and all kinds of things. You may even want to submit your picture to the site! I don't have anything to do with them, it's just a site that I found in my travels around the web. http://www.atoptics.co.uk/

That's beautiful! I am living near to Indonesia, but I had never seen such a beautiful sun before. No, the sun had never shone like this before and I am staying in Singapore! Supposedly our countries is so near to each other, we would be able to see the same sort of sun right? But too bad, I had never seen such a thing before. The most of it is the usual sun with it's shine around it.. and it is just too hot and bright, and if we insist on looking at the sun straight on, we would just go blind! Thanks for sharing such a beautiful and unique picture with us! Take care!
