Yes I do pray before eating. God is good, and it's just one way of showing how grateful we are for His blessings. I love thanking Him, it's my way of also worshiping Him. To be grateful is something that we should always do because we won't even exist if not for God's grace and love. And of course, we shouldn't always thank God for the blessings but also thank the Giver Himself. Have a blessed day!

I see that in some of friends when we go out for dinner or lunch. THey always pray before eating and they had mentioned to me before that it is to give thanks to the Lord for giving them the food that they have on the table.
But for me, I don't ever give thanks nor do I pray before I eat. This is because I am a free person, with no religion so there is no practice for me to do so. My family being Buddhist don't do that either. As from young, we had not cultivate this practice, it had not become a habit or whatsoever.
So, even for the completion of a meal, I don't ever pray and give thanks. There is nothing wrong with it, as each different person has different religions, and thus, tends to give thanks differently.

I always pray before eating. Sometimes, when I'm really hungry, I take a bite of my food and then realize that I haven't prayed yet. I stop chewing and then pray and then start chewing again. I've made it a habit to pray before eating. After eating, not so much though.

Praying is for people who are religious, and I am not, so I do not pray. I am Agnostic, and I do not believe in prayer.

No, I don't pray before and after I eat. In Australia it is not common practice to do so. There are many religious people in Australia and I'm sure that plenty of people do, but it's just not that common. I am grateful for the food I eat and ralise that I am very lucky to live in a country where food is plentiful, but praying before eating is just not something I practice personally.

Hey Hey
When i was a small child and ate dinner with my family we always said a small prayer and were thankful . when i got older it seemed we only did that on holidays or with a bigger more lush dinner .
That is how it is at my house now , but i wish i would do that more often .
there are too many hungry people out there and its not fair .

I do give thanks before I eat so I guess you could say this is a kind of prayer. I am not religious or anything though. I do believe in a higher power i.e. the Universe! So, I give thanks to the Universe for everything that I have in my life. I believe it's very important to be thankful for everything. Yes, you make work very hard for everything you have in your life but all the same, I think giving thanks is very important. Andrew

Personally, No. I don't ever pray, not because i think that it doesn't work, but I hate the idea of committing to something especially of you are uncertain of what you are committing to. However I think that a meditation or "prayer" is good before meals to get the body in the right 'mode' to digest the food properly which is improtant.

Praying before beginning to eat, and praying after eating should be a part of our life. We should pray before eating so that god blesses the food and we can eat properly. And we should pray after eating to thank god for what he has given us. By which we are still alive...

We pray before every meal. We have done that for quite awhile now. Everyone in the family gets to take turns praying. My 2 year old is even starting to learn how to say prayers. He knows that we pray before eating and will not try to eat before we pray.
