the cornsnake. Yes, I do not have a dog or a cat or any other normal pet, my son and I instead have joint care of Leila the Cornsnake. Do not be scared, she does not bite, in fact she is very friendly, probably more friendly than the real friends I have ever had!Leila is 4 months old now, and she eats baby mice, not alive, the mice are bought already dead and frozen. My hubby just defrosts them and me or my son will feed her the mouse by hand. Leila was one of 19 babies that my hubby bred from two of his other adult cornsnakes that he has, he incubated the eggs until they hatched, we rehomed all but this one which we decided to keep because my son and I took a shine to her. She likes to be held, and when out she will go up my sleeve curl around my arm and go to sleep there! Also she likes to pop her head out of my sleeve and sit there for ages just looking around. Although they do not do much, except scare folk or make them shudder with disgust they are actually a pretty cool creature and I am learning quite a lot about them as a species. Anyway I just thought you might be interested in it! So I would love to know what your pets are, what they are called and any pics that you have of your pets? Do any of your pets have funny things that they do, or any certain things they do that might be unusual or different?

Rogue.. black w/ bright green eyes cat.. he was our first together. got him at 8 weeks old, and hes been by the sprites side, quite literally for the last 7 + years. Baskerville.. a black w/tan-white beagle.. got him at 7 weeks as a birthday present from mal. hes now bonded with mal so much that he needs to only grunt or cough as a comand to get him to listen.. he just turned 3 this past summer. Mama.. a tri-colored w/ stark yellow eyes wild kitty who adopted us.. no clue how old she is.. but shes been a pal of the mutt since we got him, and then started to love us through the dog, and has been patrolling our yard since someone abandoned her for at least 5 years before Bask`s arrival on the scene. Miranda.. a white w/ black spots looks like an oreo cookie exploded kitty.. shes just turning a year old, and now lives outside with Mama. Fischer & Norah. our newest additions are 12 weeks old.. a brother and sister pair of kittens, one black tiger with the look of a fisher cat (hence his name) and the other is white with tanish-orange markings. weve had them less than 24 hours, but so far, a wonderful add to this family soo you kept the baby that had all of the troubles when born? hehe you softee you *hugs*

Wow, the cats sound like they are some gorgeous colours. I love beagles, I think they are such a sweet looking dog. Yes, we kept it, I mean how could we not, poor little thing, it is such a softie, for a snake anyway!

She's a beautiful cornsnake. I had a 4-foot-long blacksnake once. He was in an abandoned chicken coop when my parents bought a farm in Maryland. He was just hanging there in the rafters. He was very friendly, but I never had anything to feed him. I guess he just ate field mice or whatever, because we never had a mouse problem there. I have had geckos, a Jacksonian chameleon (they have horns), lots and lots of cats, lots of dogs, hamsters, gerbils, hooded rats, 2 cinnamon skunks, 2 chinchillas, mice, netherland dwarf rabbits, and 2 ferrets. I raised and sold small animals to pet stores. The trouble with doing that is you either shut yourself off from them entirely or you fall in love with all of them and it hurts to let them go. I did the second. My animals were very happy, not like those you see on the Animal Precinct. They made me happy, so I had to make them happy. I don't know how to insert a pic in this comment. I would love to show you some pics. I'll just put them in my photo album here.

Thank you, I love her colouring. We have in total now 6 snakes, a boa constrictor, a royal python and 4 cornsnakes. You have certainly had some unusual pets, I love dwarf rabbits though, they are cute, but I also love those big massive rabbits too. When it came to selling the baby cornsnakes, I found it really hard, I had let myself get a bit too attached to them and it was hard to think of them going away.

Those big Belgian giants, and the big lops! They are beautiful rabbits. How did you insert a pic in your comment? I've tried everything I can think of and it doesn't work. Probably something really simple.

Thanks. I knew it should be simple. But it's not. I only have preview comment and post comment. No add image. Is it because I don't have enough points yet? I only joined yesterday. Oh, well. No biggie. It will come.

Was their meant to be a picture with this?? Hey leila (waves from a distant!!) i dont mind snakes as long as its pictures of them or they are in cages. there is no way that I could, or would hold one even if it is a baby snake. I'm glad to hear that you kept one of the baby snakes as I know it was a tense moment when she gave birth as you were on holiday!! Its nice that your son is into snakes aswell, I suppose he has no choice with dad breeding them!!

We have cats! Five of them in a small apartment. My roommate just keeps bringing them home. First there is Midnight, a handsome black with a speck of white on his chest. I think he does quite well for being an unfixed tom living inside. With my roommate leaves for a night he cries and prowls the house. Have you ever know a man so pathetic? Then we have Shadow, a grey tom. He is weird. Follows my roommate around, sleeps seemingly around the clock, and is just Mr. Lovely. Then we have Zoey, who is the mother of the brood. She is skinny and looks like the life of mother has drove her over the edge. She is a grey tabby with big yellow eyes. She will come into the room and just stare at me. Drives me crazy! The the three kids. One white and grey tab tom. He was an orphan and adopted by my roommate. The mother cat has adopted him also. He is probably the ugliest cat I have ever seen. Chumley is a grey and black tab. Handsome guy he is. And very energetic and playful. Then there is Wolfin. The little grey long haired, tab. He is a handsome little sweetheart. Looked just like a wolf cub when he was tiny. What a brood, huh? We love them all but I think if she brings one more cat home I will scream!

FIVE wow, that is some cats! But they are lovely animals cats are. I miss mine but I cannot have anymore because of the kids, one has bronchial asthma and two have exzcema and so I was advised not to have any pets with fur.

Hi Gem...I love your little snake. Gosh gemini...she is incredible...I've never seen a snake with those colours and the patterns are incredible. I wish I could hold her. I answered a post yesterday about all my critters and posted photos and all. I wish I could find it again to give you a link...it took me ages to do.

Of course its me who requested you to start a discussion a long time ago, about your pet snakes, but i some how missed it, reason.. i am not active here, as you know. Of the nineteen babes, what makes you to get impressed with Leila? Is it so cute. Or else the remaining 18 has gone? It is only a pit stop for me, and take care Gemini. ( O! i nearly went to press the post response button...BTW, how is my favorite, i mean you little daughter.. haha.. i can't forget that little discussion on here. God bless her, and you also)
