Do you feed her before or after you offer the bottle/nursing? It is recommended to nurse/offer the bottle first, when starting to introduce solids. But now you should offer food before the bottle for at least one feeding for starters. If you fill her up with milk first, she is full and will not try anything else. And keep in mind, they really don't eat much at that age anyway. Mine just barely managed to empty one of those mini-jars (the number 1 jars) at nine months. Don't offer too much;)

I have tried it both ways with her and she never seems really receptive. The few times I have got her to try it she just pushes it out of her mouth and makes a cute little face at me.

If you can't get her too eat the baby food. Try to mush up some banana's. They make diced apples, pears, and peaches made by gerber baby food. If you baby has any teeth yet if they try to feed themselfs they might like something this better. I know my daughter was like this she didn't want to be feed. She wants to do it all herself. Gerber also makes pasta pick ups they can eat the with out even having teeth casue they can mush them up with there gums. I hope this helps.

I noticed that she loves to pick things up and put them in her mouth and takes control when she uses a bottle. The fact that she is biting now I guess if it was small enough and mushy enough I could give the pasta pick ups a try if she is the right age.

I know she should be old enough for the pasta pick ups and they come in different flavors. My did really didn't start getting teeth tell she was about 10 months old. She just now alittle over a year and she just now got her 5 and 6 teeth. So that worked good for her.
