and we don't know why.
Every year towards the end of September there is a festival right down the road from our house called the Jordan Fall Festival. It's held on the school grounds. There are some rides, a couple games, lots of food booths, some contests, a huge crafts tent and a large merchant tent. It's the same thing every year, and we've been to it, and look forward to going, every year for the past 3 or 4 years, even before we moved out here. We've always enjoyed ourselves.
The past 2 years that we've lived here I have spent all 3 days down there. It starts around 5pm on Friday and ends around 5pm on Sunday. Since hubby works Friday and Saturday, and I'm usually bored, I would go down and just walk around, hang out, and look for familiar faces to start a conversation with.
Well this year for some reason was different. I guess I just wasn't in the right mood, and niether was hubby. We're both getting sick, and mostly just feel miserable. We thought the festival would lift our spirits.
Well I went down there Friday evening after dinner, walked around for almost an hour, then felt bored and came home.
Hubby came home from work early on Saturday, and after lunch we all went down and walked around. We stayed probably 2 hours, then we were too bored so came home.
Yesterday was the day we planned to spend all day. They have a special, ride all you want for $10, so we get this for the kids and spend all day riding rides. They also have a huge car show on Sundays which we usually like to look around.
Well we got down there around 10:30 am, walked through the cars for a bit, but I was so miserable I decided I was going to sit and let hubby and the kids finish looking at the cars, I really wanted no part of it. After that we decided we'd come home for lunch because we didn't have the money to buy food there. We ended up back home at 11am... not even there for half an hour. Then hubby and I sat debating whether we were even going to go back, but the kids had been looking forward to the rides all weekend. So I headed back with the kids and hubby met us a little later. He stayed about an hour or 2 and headed home, while I left a little after he did.
We just didn't enjoy it as much as we usually do, and I haven't the slightest idea why.
Has this ever happened to you? Have you ever been so miserable you can't enjoy something you normally take a lot of pleasure in?

I do not know if it is because of our economy. But our local fair called the Grape Festival was lame this year also. We did not even go but our youngest daughter did and others that we asked said that there was not near as much displays this year and the rides were expensive.
