Milk + Exercise

Everyone knows that milk "helps build strong bones and muscles." So what I'm wondering is, if you drink more milk through out the day, and exercise too...will it help you get a better looking body? If you drank more milk could you do a little less exercise to fit up your body? Like, doing crunches help you flatten your stomach and get abs...will drinking more milk help accomplish that faster? Thanks!

Milk has calories;more milk has more calories. More calories means you need more exercise to burn them off. If you drink milk instead of high calorie sodas, milk might mean less calories, so that could mean a little less exercise. It's hard to answer that without knowing how milk fits into your diet. Milk puts more calcium into your bones and more protein into your muscles. You need as much bone mass and muscle mass as you can get when you're young since for every decade from 30 on, you will loose a percentage of your muscle mass and bone mass. So go for the exercise and for the milk. Flatter stomachs come from getting the excess fat off from them (loose weight) and a tighter muscle tone from crunches. So you need to loose excess weight and do crunches. Take care

Well I don't drink a lot of soda and stuff...mostly water, sometimes gatorade. Really I only have milk in the mornings with my cereal :P lol. And it is fat free milk, so I'm sure that helps a bit :) I do crunches occasioanlly, i know i should do them more often :P lol. Thanks writers :)

Milk just once a day? Gatorade must have some calories, too. Don't forget weight-exercises for the bones and muscles. Women don't bulk up like men because most don't have testosterone like men. Muscle is not as fluffy as fat, so you look trimmer, too. Take care.

Milk has calcium (and a little Vitamin D) in it that helps keeps bones strong but as far as helping to build muscle or whatever, no. Milk has protein in it which you do need for muscle building and strength but not nearly enough to really help you when you exercise. Drinking more milk will only make you gain weight unless you drink skim. It won't help you be fitter or make you stronger. You have to workout with weights to build muscle and you have to do cardio to burn fat and gain stamina. Milk is good for you (I never drink it though.) for calcium, Vitamin D, and a little protein but certainly won't give you a better body unless you combine milk drinking with a low fat diet and exercise. There are no short cuts unfortunately when it comes to exercise. Having strong bones is essential but that doesn't equate to having a fit body unless you work those muscles and work the heart and lungs.

I cannot associate milk from exercise though, but yes it helps build strong bones and muscles. I guess because it helps your bones to be strong, it helps you to do your exercise routine because you can carry weights because of strong bones and that is by drinking milk. I believe you can also accomplish exercise because of strong bones.
