Some of you may be wondering; Where have you been? I was posting everyday then all of the sudden I stop. Well as some of you know from my previous discussion I have been on a trip. Granted it was a business trip, I still found the time to be able to enjoy myself. I had never been to the West Coast of the USA so this was extra special for me. I was able to see some thing that I have never seen before. I was able to do some thing that I have never been able to do. It was a great time. It has made me appreciate things around me more. Even though I nejoyed myself out there I am happy to be back.
Where are some places that you have gone that have had an impact on your outlook on life? How did it change you?
I will be writing more on my travels at a later time. Until then I look forward to hearing from all my friends.

Glad to see you back and in one piece. The place that I've been that had an impact on my life after visiting has to be Mesa, AZ. I was quite a bite younger and my first experience outside of my hometown. I had a little insight on what it may feel like to be a minority and unable to speak the local language. My glowing white skin (hadn't seen the sun at all LOL) caused a lot of stares and I felt out of place especially when I heard people speaking around me in what I think was some dialect of Spanish. I know very very little of spanish so it was hard for me to communicate with the locals. My cousin and I went onto a reservation there to pick up some sodas to drink in their local store and that was another experience in of itself. I am part Lenope and had no idea that reservations (at least this one) was nothing but trailers. LOL I expected to see a teepee or two. Like I said I was just 20yrs old out of my element for the first time so don't laugh too hard.

Yes, I did make it back ok. LOL I'm sure they had the Teepee's hidden behind their trailers. Funny how when you go somewhere you expect to see or experience one thing and that is all you can think of. Then when you actually ariive it is completely different that what you expected.

Oh I love to travel. I go places as often as I am able to. The place I live now actually came from a visit here way back. I came on vacation and then returned home and began to make plans to move here. I love the mountains as well. Where do you live?
The west coast is very pretty.
Glad to hear that you had a great trip.
Be blessed.

I live in the midwest. No mountains here. That is why it was so cool being out west. I can't wait to go back to see the mountains again. I am thinking, if things work out right, that I may try to go back and climb the mountain sometime next fall.

It's nice to hear of your travel. I have never gone out of the country just out of the city. I loved this place here in the Philippines called Baguio. The place really touched me. The weather is not warm and not that cold.. The air is clean and lots of trees and nice houses..and the people are nice. Drivers gives way to other drivers unlike in the city. I would love to travel around the world and to places I have never been to in our country. It would be such fun to do so.

The same was true for me. I had never travelled much. Here in the past 6 months though I have been travelling a lot more. It has been fun, but at the same time I wish I could have taken my family. It is always better when you get to share your experiences. thanks for the response.

When I visited Washington, DC I was just awed at the fact that the president lived there. I felt then that I was truly in America and felt more American than ever.

I have never been there before. I have always wanted to go, but have not had the opportunity. Perhaps my work will send me there one day. I think it would be a neat place to visit. I don't think I would want to live there though. I'm not too much for a big city.

Right now, I don't have time for travelling to different places. I am very busy with my work and aside from that the expenses in going to another places is too big. I need to save a lot of money so that I can go to places that I like. I am from the Philippines; there are lot of beautiful places here. I love to visit and work in America. I hope so. It's my dream.

First of all welcome to Mylot.
Thank you so much for the invite. I would very much like to come and visit the Philippines. I do have some places that i wish to go. I hope to be able to go to Uganda Africa. I am a minister and I promised a friend of mine 16 years ago that I would come and minister in his country. Perhaps God will open the door for my wife and I to come to the Philippines as well.

I have a similar problem. I was posting almost everyday here for two months solid. Then I had to go to D.C. for activism and had to go to Boston for a zine event. I don't even think I've been around here for a week. That's a little strange for me as I've become attached to you all, but sometimes actual reality interferes with virtual reality. I think that's a good thing.

Yes sometimes other things in life have to come first. We have thing to take care of and sometimes just don't have the time to "log on" My problem was more that I could not get a good connection where I was. Good to have you back.

I am really glad that you had such a superb trip to the West Coast of the USA. I have heard that Mount Rainer in Washington State is really beautiful. Even though it was a business trip that you were on you still managed to see a lot of sights. It is lovely that you enjoyed yourself and are now back on My Lot, happy to be home.
I really love traveling. I traveled around the world when I was 20. I learned in Australia to take care of my skin when in the sun. I was amazed to see how happy the poor people in the world are in a country like Indonesia. I have been happy to see conservation measures in countries like Belize with a local man helping the manatees.
I would love to go to South America. There I would learn about the local people and their culture, find out about the history and see the native wildlife. Traveling is educational and enjoyable. It has developed my patience and respect for all nationalities.

Yes, Mt Rainier is Amazing. I can not describe for you the majesty of that mountain. I was able to climb up to 6400 feet of the mountain. I am now planning a trip to go back a summit the mount at 14,000+ feet. There are something in life that we take for granted so often that we need an experience like I had to shake up our realities and put thing back into perspective.

I like to travel but have visited not very much places. I've been to Finland and fell in love with this country. Actually Finland is our neighbour. I've been to many places and cities in Russia. Our country is very big and beautiful. And every summer I travel to the Crimea (Ucraine) on the Black Sea. Crimea is my favourite place for the rest. A lot of interesting places to see and very beautiful nature.

I have never been over seas. I would like to do that sometime. I think it would really be neat to see other countries so far away. Until then I guess I will just have to settle with the vast array of scenery here in the US. thanks for the response

hey PG, glad to see you back on the lot..........ooooooh......looks like someone can cut and paste now.
you went to the west coast and didn't even stop by to visit me here in Las Vegas???
as you can imagine, we can use people like you here in "sin city"
i've traveled through the Rocky Mountains a couple of times, just seeing that makes you realize that us humans are really a very small part of The Earth as a whole.......but we can sure mess it up can't we?
anyways, welcome home my friend.

LOL, Yes I was on the West Coast. Not very close to LV though. I was up in Seattle Washington. It was a great trip. I was able to get all the work done and had time to do some site seeing. It was well worth it. Hopefully I will be able to go back sometime soon. I have some things I was wanting to do.
Yep I can paste and add images to my comments and responses. I hope to be on here more often now that I am back. Of course that will be after I get caught up from being out of the office.
Take care.

I just got back from spending 9 days in Las Vegas. We had a wonderful time, ate everyplace in town and still lost 5 pounds. Probably from the walking (took a pedometer this time and it said we walked a total of 34.57 miles!) Sure glad I took my bottle of Aleve. LOL
We go every year. I love Vegas because I can totally relax there. See great shows and have marvelous food. I like to play the slots too, but that is not the real reason for going. Just love the freedom from all worries and responsibilities I feel there. I knos that everything will be here when I get back so might as well enjoy the little carefree time while I'm able.

Yes, to be able to find a place to relax. To let all the worries and care go to the wayside if even for a moment is a great feeling. I think we all need to find that "happy place" and visit every once in a while. thanks for the response

I did get to see the Pacific Ocean when I was out west. I had seen the Atlantic before, but never the pacific. I is awesome to be able to see these things in nature. To see all that God has created. thanks for your response.

Before this year I have not had the opportunity to travel much. Now I have a new job and it pays me to travel. The only problem is, it also decides where I go. But that is ok. I get to see things that normally I would not be able to.
