Being a strong God believer, I have a hard time understanding that. It's so obvious to me that there is a God, I mean, good grief...look around us....there's so much going on that we have nothing to do with creating. Someone had to...anyway, I guess someone chooses to not believe in God maybe because they like the idea of being a sort of God themselves, or they don't like the idea of a God that is greater than them, and has more power than them, and is in control of everything, like they'd like to be, but aren't. They are people who can only believe in things they see with their own physical eyes or senses, or with their instruments and scientific data. It's hard for them to think past these things. Faith is not in their vocabulary, it's just not scientific enough. People who don't believe in God can be very arrogant, and self-possessed. It seems to me being an atheist would be a very lonely and cold world.

PS...AS far as this suffering in this world goes..we just need to accept the responsibility of our actions. We create our own difficulties...God isn't wishing them on us. Our ignorance causes our suffering, not God. But it is our suffering that can help us move forward, to learn, and to use to open our eyes and heart to the truth about God. That is our choice we make. We have that choice, or free will...and there are always reactions to our choices, good ones, or bad ones.

Hi friend! I think a person who doesn't have a good and strong foundation about God will have a hard time believing in Him. Especially if that person is old enough to decide what they want to believe. Others who have suffered a lot in their lives tends to think that God has forsaken them so their mind and experiences makes them forget about God. Some don't go to mass so that's again lacking foundation about God.
A good foundation in God starts within the family. One best thing to do is to teach a child how to pray before sleeping.
Ciao!

Because some people don't see any reason to. If someone told you we are being watched by a gigantic pink unicorn in the sky who barfed us into creation, you'd be just as skeptical. You'd want evidence. The same goes for atheists. There's no verifiable evidence of any God - just belief and superstition. We are not afraid to say that we may be all alone in our sentient existence.

i don't believe in god i believe in energy and when we die we simply change dimensions i think it is a science thing rather than a god thing after all our earth race may have created a universe under Germany which would then evolve into planets and life so when they start to write a bible who do you think will be god? oh yes the earth race who has only been here 150`000 years nothing in comparison to our universe who says its an all powerful being and not a all powerful race with very intelligent scientists who created us

people like to see, feel, and touch things. it's hard for us to trust people in general and then you want us to trust in someone that you can't even see?? that's why it's so hard. also we like to do things our way and that's not what GOD is about. he wants things done his way or there are consequences.

because there is so much bad in the world, and because groups of people without religion have exisited througout history and they have done just fine wihtout it. I also think people just get fed up and decide to become an athiest becasue of all of the hypocrisies in the church. There's also sometimes this judgemental attitude that comes from the religious people that turns people off.

What we need to understand is that the truth about God, and religions..are two different things entirely. It's true there are alot of religions that appear not to have anything to do with God, they commit so many acts in the name of God. But we need to separate the two. If a religion is false, that dosn't mean God is. I understand that to truly understand the existence of God, we need to abandon all organized religions, and go inside ourselves with sincerity of purpose, and with faith, and these truths will be revealed to us.
