Not a GOOD BOSS! That is very strange normally there has to be some preparation time before he leaves! Hmm, how is the company doing?

A manager or anybody who's working who disappears without notice is simply unprofessional. If you're going away on a vacation, the least you could do is inform the people you work with that you'll be gone and for how long. Then, if you're a manager, you need to inform your people what needs to be done while you're away and what you are expecting from your people when you get back. If you're not a manager, you're still required to inform everyone that you'll be gone for a while so that somebody can do the job or the workload that you'll be leaving.

I think it would be totally irresponsible for a manager (or anyone, for that matter) to take vacation without letting anyone know. My husband is a retail manager and I couldn't imagine him taking vacation without telling anyone. I kind of wonder what kind of company you work for because my husband would have to have approval before he took vacation.
