We all know that Ghandhi is the father of India. His contribution to the freedom struggle and getting the freedom are very important. What made Ghandhi become the Mahatma (the great soul)? Is it his non-violence? What got him this name?

No one can really answer this question. Millions of indians had faith in him, they treated him like their father, saw a hope in him, made him their representative to the british and made him one of the greatest leader of the century. But if you ask why? then no one can answer this. May be it was because of ideals he gave to the world or may be because of his contributions towards indian society. There are thousands of books out there which have tried to answer this and proving that point in few words is just impossible.
