This is a survey for my next blog post. I want to hear other people's view regarding the talent of all talents. In your opinion, what's the talent of all talents? I know there's a lot of talents out there. It could be acting, singing, dancing, talents in sports, talents in computer, talents in arts, etc. (whatever talents you may think of) In case you want to know my own opinion, well for me, the talent of all talents is singing - a good singing voice rocks! I just hope I had one. Unfortunately, I wasn't blessed with that kind of ability. It must be cool to be a frontman of a rocking band and be seen and praised by millions of people worldwide. Just like the vocalist of Greenday - Billie Joe Armstrong. Anyway, back to the subject. I just want you to PICK ONE and TELL ME WHY you chose it as the talent of all talents.

The talent of all talents, well for me it would be the ability to give and receive love. No matter how talented and famous without love it is all meaningless anyway eh! Ellie :D

Interesting question... Many people have some sort of talent. But very few have the talent of all talents... because that would make them number one... and you can only have one number one. So I am going to simplify by defining the talent of all talents... When you achieve that status... you have become a legend. And you cannot become a legend until you reach the age of 50. Because a legend is born by its longevity in what he/she does. Those are few in between... as most don't last the distance. You do find many legendes in sport... because they were the best of their generation... and they are remembered as such. In that case... longevity does not apply. Most of the big names in the music industry from the 1950's are regarded as legendes... because they were the pioneers of rock n' roll... and everything which followed since then... was inspired by that original rock n' roll. So if we are looking for the talent of all talents in 2008... Who else... but Madonna... has been at the top of her profession for 28 years? There are many legends in motor racing... and again longevity applies in that sport in order to become a legend. Over a 40 years period of Australian motor racing... Only 3 guys did achieve that status. Allan Moffat, Peter Brock and D.ck Johnson. They did so because they were fully commited to it. They did not just race cars. The three of them were running their own private team... and one of them would be on pole position through the year and year after year. That's longevity.

As for choosing the best talent of all talents... I would not dare... Would you like to be the one... telling Clint Eastwood that a singer has more talent than he does?

I wouldn't take this discussion as far as what you're thinking. This is like a childish discussion only to hear what other people might say regarding talents.

You are making things very difficult for me. :( I think all talents are great, but you are asking me to pick ONE, and that is very difficult for me. However, if you force me, I would pick the talent of speech, the ability of some to stick to their point, argue, debate, and convince others, the ability to teach, to make a point clear and easily understandable, the ability of some to communicate perfectly. That's why I love Osho; he speaks so well. Of all spiritual leaders, he is my favorite for this reason. Cheers and happy mylotting

I would expand on ellie333's answer about being able to give and receive love. I would say that the greatest talent in the world is to be able to recognize a spark of talent in others and to be able to encourage him/her to pursue and develop that talent. To me, the greatest talent is what ellie333 said, to be able to give and receive love, but it is also to be able to encouarge, to make others feel special, because each one is special. The person with the greatest talent exudes love and joy and encourages everyone around him/her. A good voice can be taken in an instant. One can play an instrument one day, then be injured and no longer able to play the next. The same is true with sports. There is a finite length of time when one can use that talent. But the talent of being able to brighten up a room is timeless.

For me, the talent of all talents is drawing. I have always wanted to draw very well, but I did not have the talent for it. I can write, sing, act, and dance, but those are not the talents that I wanted.

For me it would be playing music with an instrument. This is hard to learn to do but some people are born with this talent. I love music and listen to it all the time and if it were not for those that could play music we would have nothing to listen to on the radio except for some guy talking. I am not able to play anything but I can enjoy what others do.

For me, the talent of all talents is forgiveness. Why? Because it isn't easy and you do have to give something of yourself to forgive. Love is a good answer but in some cases as easy thing to do. Forgiveness isn't easy. True forgiveness means letting go of something that bothered you or upset you. The ultimate forgiveness comes to us from God. So, to try and be like him, I would have to say forgiveness.

I think acting and singing are extraordinary talents to have since not everybody can sing or act. I truly believe that you are born an actor or a singer. I have a soprano voice ,so singing comes easy to me ,but acting is kind of hard.

Wow that's really a difficult decision. For one, it would depend on how good you are at your talent right? And what really constitutes as talent? Are athletes talented or are they just skilled? I know that they have to practice a lot in order to become good, but at the same time some people can practice more and still not be able to throw a ball properly. Anyway, if playing sports is considered a talent, than that's my choice. If not, then I'd say being able to play a musical instrument. :)

Well, all the talents you mention are excellent talents - but if it came down to the most important thing of all, which would touch all people, it would be the ability to make other people feel happy about themselves and to feel loved and comfortable. Maybe this is what made people such as Jesus stand out from ordinary people on the street - a kind of charisma that drew others to them and rocked their world.

The talent of all talents is to have the ability to do all of the above, to sing dance, and paint, and act, I have a few talents I can sing draw knit and sculpt a little, but unfortunately I not many people have seen my talents but I was in the paper once for one of my talents but anyway. to me the ultimate talent would be able to do it all, but if I haft to pick just one, talent I would pick painting or drawing because it allows you to exercise your imagination and my dream would be to paint like (Leonardo DA Vinci) but of course that will never happen I'm good but not that good, lol.

I will pick singing also since that is one of my frustrations...I find it really amazing for any individual who can sing very well and who reached their dreams because of their amazing talents! It is wonderful also to entertain a lot of crowds who loves the voice..hmmm...I wish!

I had a 5th grade math teacher who told us that the first week we all made 100% on our Times Table Test he would stand on his head on top of his desk and whistle Dixie. I spent a year of my life thinking that must be the greatest talent EVER. Unfortunately, I never saw it performed.

I would say Dancing to be the talent of all talents.Singing reflects the perfect of once voice and invoves vocal chords and mind's co-ordination.Painting needs just the hand and mind co-ordination.Similarly other talents too involve a specific body part. But in dancing your whole body and mind need perfect co-ordination.Its the whole person-physical and intellectual, performing the dance and the better the co-ordination the better and perfect the talent.

I know you're talking about performing talent but I think the talent to make people feel good about themselves surpasses everything else. In performing talents, I think playing the guitar is the best. A good guitarist can make even the worst singer tolerable and can lend light and shadow to songs that are mediocre as well as really good. He or she can play all kinds of music--rock, classical, jazz, country--and accompany almost anyone.
