This is a local fruit looks like cherry. It's tree is just only about between six to ten feet in height. It is usually seen in our backyards. The fruit is reddish round cherry look alike and has a lot of tiny seeds. It's sweet and juicy. When I was a child I saw my playmates eating that fruit I was wondering what he was eating and so I also got one to taste, it taste good and its really sweet. Since then when we played we always had Aratiles in our pockets. But now that I'm grown up I didn't eat it anymore maybe because for me it's only a fruit for children just while they were playing in the backyard..
Do you know Aratiles? Do you eat it when you were just a kid? Or do you still eat it until now? Happy mylotting..

I do eat aratiles when i was a kid. it really is sweet especially the very red ones and the texture is a little sandy because of the small granules inside the fruit.we had an aratiles tree before but now i seldom see one so i dont get to eat aratiles anymore.

I thought they're just used as bullets for wooden pistols. I thought they're poisonous too so i never attempted to eat it when i was a kid. We used to have an aratiles tree but now it's gone because the lot was converted into an apartment.

I know that fruit! I eat it when I was a kid. My friends and I found a tree of aratiles in a vacant lot near our home. We always eat that fruit every time we play. The tree became our favorite hangout place. We have chairs and table under the tree so we could do our home works and teach other with the snacks of our favorite aratiles. Sometimes we just sit there and talked under the shade of the tree when it is too hot to play. Now that I’m older I don’t anymore aratiles fruit caused I don’t see them in neighbors backyard nor in the market but if there is any I would still want to eat aratiles.

yeap! I know aratiles very well coz I used to climbed that tree in our background then put in a small container. Actually I put it in refrigerator for aleast 30 minutes coz i want to eat it quite colder. Take note I dont eat it one by one. I grab numbers of it then eat it as i'm eating a rice. its true i'm not kidding. right at this moment i smile alone here in front of my PC remeniscing that moment. My mom scolded me most of the time coz she wanted me to sleep every afternoon but I always answer her back just because of that Aratiles thing...lol

yes, yes, yes. i even used to climb the aratiles tree when i was young or put up a playhouse under that tree. but we had to chop down our tree because robbers used it as a look out and try to see the inside of our house. lol! the birds get to the fruit first sometimes.

aratiles is mansanitas in our dialect and there's one in the front yard to shield us from the burning rays of the sun. it's very sweet when it's very red but i like the orange one. now, haven't tasted it because i can't reach the fruit and the fruit bats ( the tiny ones)are the ones who get to the fruits first. birds seldom eat at the fruit except when it's down on the ground and they peck at it. if you notice some dried seeds sticking on walls of houses these are left by the fruit bats.

warrior hi I have never heard of aratiles but they sound like
'they might be good to eat. are they sort of like a dark red
cherry? I would love to see some and taste them. I live in'the United States and i dont know whether or not they grow here or not. I like sweet juicy cherries so know i would like
