How easy is it to get the correct information on the net

Today since the web world is too much populated and has become a place for easy scams and spams, how relevant do you think most of the internet resources are. Whenever you are trying to get some information out of your search in search engines, how often you have to correct and exact answers. How often you face spam sites which just mislead you to any other source and just fools you.
In this environment how logical you will feel the internet to be for the newbies?

Hi Acmeous!
I think if you want opinion then the net is perfect. If you want fact then researching via Libraries and Uni's is better.

yeah,it's true that scams and spams are growing online.
I think newbies should never covet petty advantages.
Don't be penny wise,pound foolish.
